@avatans If these officers worked at salaries below the ones given in private sector, then does that perhaps justify the massive corruption that we have ? That's not a good justification Ambassador Sir, just does not hold.

Remarkable response by this retired bureaucrat KC, a former India ambassador, justifying the “Gymkhana Club” privileges. It gives you a glimpse of the mentality of Indian Babudom. “… bureaucrats since 1947 worked for salaries well below private sector doles.” No one forced these Babus to work for the GOI. Why didn’t they work in the private sector? Interesting choice of word “doles” here. “Doles” are a feature of state, not private sector. Is he for real?

@CleansedTweets Agreed. Indian govt needs to hold mandatory online classes for tourists going abroad. At least for first timers and for people visiting purely for tourism. Very much required.

There's is Indian uproar on X over Thailand reducing the tourist visa stay for #Indians from 60 days to just 15 days. But calling Thais racist is neither fair nor true. Why this happened 👇 - Extremely loud (beyond a joke loud) - Lack of personal space, pushing - Treating hotel staff like servants - Hygiene issues in shared spaces - Lack of cultural adaptation - Inappropriate behaviour towards women 👀 - Pack (group mentality) Massive groups of men - Littering (dropping trash) - Stealing hotel amenities - Urinating on beaches - Indian prostitutes now seen in Bangkok/Pattaya - Disregard for queues / lines - Lack of deodorant usage (sorry but its true) - Working illegally. This is evident in most tourist hotspots. - Generally rude - Tight, the perception is Indians don't spend money All of these issues above have spiraled to a point now where other nationalities are avoiding certain Thai tourist towns and resorts that are heavily dominated by Indians tourists. Sort it out guys. Its pretty bad out there. Nothing to do with racism. Even Expats Indians in Bangkok having been having this conversation for over two years now and they all agree, by and large the behaviour of many Indian tourists is extremely poor. #India #IndianTourists

@jgopikrishnan70 @Ankitt_tt No wonder you are a unknown journalist. Calling a officer pagal just because he stood for his men, is just not done and is untenable. The cliche law is supreme and law will take its own course is best left to bolly & tollywood. Not in real life. When police did not act, he rushed

Let us see... What action ITBP HQ and Union Home Ministry going to take against this ITBP Commandant in creating friction with Kanpur Police Commissionerate ... The case is related to medical negligence .. One ITBP Jawan's mother's hand was amputated. His family alleges medical negligence. They filed case to Kanpur Police. There are strict guidelines by Supreme Court on how medical negligence cases to be handled. First there will be a probe by District Medical Officer headed team. But today unfortunate things happened. Let us see how UP Police, ITBP HQ and NHA handle this issue in coming days

A Force becomes truly powerful not only because of weapons or training, but because its men know their officers will stand beside them when the system refuses to listen. Respect to the #ITBP Commandant. #Kanpur #PoliceCommissionerate

@Chopsyturvey From where is Turkey getting the engines ? They are into fifth generation, and here we are struggling with the various versions of Tejas, while our own Kaveri is yet to deliver the required thrust.

A Turkish defence journalist claimed Pakistan may acquire 65 TAI TF KAAN fifth-generation stealth fighter jets in a deal reportedly valued at $15 billion. The agreement, if finalized, would become one of Pakistan’s largest-ever military aviation procurements. Neither Pakistan nor Turkey has officially confirmed the reported fighter jet deal yet. The KAAN is Turkey’s indigenous fifth-generation stealth fighter program designed to replace aging F-16 aircraft. The report highlights deepening defence and aerospace cooperation between Turkey and Pakistan.

Extraordinary. The ITBP (a CAPF under MHA control) in Kanpur reportedly surrounded the Kanpur Police Commissioner office after the Police refused to help an ITBP person who sought help on his mother's wrong treatment by a hospital. #NewIndia

While the photograph of crash of GOC 3 Div’s helicopter has gathered lot of praise and good wishes, I can tell you this photograph is as true a depiction of mindset of army officers as it gets. - Pilots continue flying this autorickshaw with rotors blades and hope for a better bird that replaces it. Day after day. Transporting, rescue, ops etc. - An adversity like a crash will not be met as a crybaby, but survival will be celebrated with a selfie and victory sign. - Get up, brush off your dust and fly again next day. Same helicopters. Both pilots and the senior officers. With the hope that someone sitting in Def Min will finally replace them. The reason that conversations around equipment and material in media and social media is mostly led by enthusiasts and not professionals is mostly because right from training days, one idea that’s drilled into you is not to complaint, and do your best with what’s available. And mind you, this is a critical part of training that has ensured success, motivation and cohesiveness of fauj. Not to say that a million things can’t be improved, right from rifles to houses. But complaining doesn’t come naturally to faujis. And somehow while that’s a principle that creates excellent soldiers for war, it also gives leeway to the decision makers to take things for granted as long as they want. Because Army will keep serving and fighting inspite of lack of even basics. You can’t get a bureaucrat or politician to land in high altitude without all luxuries and comfort ensured for few hours. And army soldiers will spend their months and years deployed and fighting inspite same altitude and terrain with walking stick called INSAS and snow boots of wrong size. Yes, things are changing but there’s a long way to go. Comfort is taken as detrimental to soldier’s toughness even within army. And this gives rise or stems from the same thought of never to compliant. Safe to say, creates an environment where problems go unnoticed, and continue to fester. A true tribute and support to soldier is not laying flowers on his coffin after he passed away fighting terrorists without a light and sturdy bullet proof jacket, and s rifle that was missing a scope which could’ve helped him fight better and kill his enemy. The true tribute would be giving him all this so you don’t have to throw flowers on his coffin. Jai Hind. 🫡

With leopards & tigers, running makes you a target. Standing makes you a threat. When you turn your back & run in front of a big cat, it activates the predatory instinct. Running away signals vulnerability --> the same visual cue that prey gives before a chase begins. This is so hardwired that even running past a tiger or leopard enclosure in a zoo will often trigger a chase response along the fence line. The reverse is equally true. Standing tall, facing forward, and holding your ground completely disrupts the predator-prey dynamic. Leopards assess risk based on the size, posture and directness of gaze of what faces them. A confident, upright human facing them doesn't register as prey --> it registers as a potential threat. The neural network shifts from predatory mode to self-preservation mode. This is exactly what you see in this video. With increasing forest fragmentation, human-leopard conflicts are becoming more frequent. Leopards, more than tigers, are adaptable to human-dominated landscapes, which brings them closer to villages and habitations. When a leopard ventures into a settlement and a crowd gathers, the situation becomes dangerous, not because the leopard is hunting, but because it is cornered. Cortisol and adrenaline spike. The leopard is not attacking out of aggression --> it is fighting its way toward an escape route. The crowd provokes the attack it fears.
Tony 🦅@Tonnyrr0

This man stood his ground, and in the end the leopard became afraid to attack him and ran away.
