Just wait until they learn about interest and how much it costs to pay off their home for real if you cannot afford to pay for it all in cash straight up.

Can we bring landline phones back to being a thing? Vs society making having a cell phone, and internet, mandatory? This is an easier way to free up 15k or more a year to people’s pockets.

@UtahFlatRanger We just glossing over the median age from all buyers went from 31 to 29 for first time to 59 to 40 for first time?

Median means a decent portion of people bought homes sooner or later. 29 being the median means a ton of people bought homes at 24-26, with a small minority buying homes at 21-22. 40 being the current median means that even if you work unreasonably hard the best you can hope for is buying a home at 29.

@UtahFlatRanger @P5079179191547 @blewbyyou123 @LibZionistNerd @mdwfmom You have an unrealistic expectation of when you should be able to afford a home. Even 40 years ago first time homebuyers were ~29.

@LibertyJen So what like get over it, or as in you generally need the point spelled out for you? It takes 400,000 to buy a 250k house. Figuratively. You’re missing the core problem. The people you argue with is missing the core solution. EHS.

There are currently ~487,000 home listings in USA under $250,000. Please stop lying that you *must* spend half a million dollars.

Everyone says “AI will take all the jobs.” If that happens… how does this future actually work? No jobs → no income → no spending. So who buys things? Who pays rent? Who keeps the economy moving? What am I missing here?

@SevierlyBlessed That or our kids starve. ::shrug:: as someone who had to eat out of his school’s cafeteria garbage can for 5 days a week meals… Be damned if my kids have to do that.

With all the talk about the high cost of eating out vs. packing lunches, I’m curious- what do you make from scratch that actually saves your family money? Let’s share ideas and encourage people who think saving money in this economy is impossible. 🙂

@SevierlyBlessed 60$ for 1-3 hours of her time. Just got to go at decent hours out of safety. Many people that go are junkies, prostitutes, or other desperate for cash people. It’s not an ideal thing to need to do weekly.

@ramolginc And books at the library are free! I used to deliver for meals on wheels and would help one of my recipients order groceries online. He was on SNAP and always ordered expensive steaks. Would love to hear more about donating plasma!

@GilesAloha @indexnforgetit Get a better job where you can have days off, or work shifts. Nothing stopping you from starting a business and having your own hours.

@ramolginc @indexnforgetit Yes I get you have enough time to be a cunt to people online in the middle of a work day. Life is hard and unfair. Welcome to reality. Stop bitching and get working. Or just complain and always be broke. Your life your choices.

nah fuck off man. show me your average dipshit zoomer making $70k and i’ll probably find you about a grand that he can save every month without switching to ramen or giving up alcohol. if you can save at that rate and invest at say 8%, you’ll have $75k in 5 years. in 10, you’ll have $200k. stop with the fucking avocado toast and drink the coffee your office has for free.
Buck Sexton@BuckSexton

Banish this dumb recurring Boomer lecture. People aged 20-50 aren't struggling with costs because of lattés and avocado toast. College costs 10X what it did for our parents. Average house price up 60% in 6 years. Health insurance doubled since ACA debacle. All policy choices.

@GilesAloha @indexnforgetit Are you implying EVERYONE lives near a target that can deliver? (Apparently you still don’t get it. Sigh. You’re never going to get the sarcasm, the hyperbole, or that you’re being rage baited… you are too stupid for me to have fun with.)

@ramolginc @indexnforgetit Unless you are actually retarded and spend an hour at the store every day. Target will also deliver your shit to your house for free so no shop time doesn’t count.

@ramolginc @indexnforgetit You go to the store once or twice a week tops. I go to Costco once a month. You have to shop regardless to get by with life. If you are going include it you need to average your 1 hour shop time over 14 days so basically 4.2 minutes to your “meal time”
