California leads the US for animal & human H5N1 levels. ⚠️>30% of the 1,100 dairy herds infected. ⚠️60+ poultry farms infected. ⚠️27 human cases since October (all mild, all B3.13 from dairy cows). ⚠️Wastewater levels are spiking.👇👇 ⚠️California is on the wild bird flyways. We need to urgently know whether the Californian toddler has genotype B3.13 (cattle) or D1 (Birds). The former will suggest the retail milk supply in California is unsafe. The latter will suggest bird exposure.
