Vote for whomever you want. Mayes is a good guy. There are two good options on the table, even though I think Chip is the better option. However, I was there, I watched it all unfold, and I watched as Chip maneuvered to get a majority of the conference to get rid of Liz Cheney on the second try. The first try didn’t have the votes, so Chip set up the conditions to have her removed on the second try. Harriet Hageman, who ran against Liz Cheney and defeated her, has already endorsed Chip and pointed out that these pro-Liz Cheney slanders are total bs. Want to beat Chip? Go out and do it fairly. No one is perfect, I can concoct perfectly valid and truthful campaign attacks against both AG candidates, but this argument that Chip is pro-Liz Cheney is just an utter fabrication. There is no need to lie in order to win.

My first legal job was as at the TX Attorney General’s Office as a clerk. Since then, I’ve served as a federal prosecutor, Senior Counsel to the Governor, and First Assistant Attorney General. Texans deserve an AG who is ready to lead and ready to FIGHT on Day One.

@MarkDavis Revenge is another potential motive. I think it's the one i hear/see the most, at least among those most ardently supporting Paxton.

Cornyn hasn’t lost yet, but if he does, this will be why. And it will be an extra indicator of where voters set the bar for reliability, because his Trump 2.0 cooperation has been demonstratable. A loss would mean voters viewed it as performative and temporary.

Amuse did the exact same thing Massie did by misleading voters on who Trump has endorsed, while attacking Trump and supporting Massie as the only no vote on important legislation….

If you endorse someone, spend some time explaining why they’re qualified to be Chief Legal Officer instead of making 75% of the post about the opponent through recycled consultant talking points. Also a throwback to simpler times:
