@JamesStevenson @DavionBlackwing @NixyroS @MomokaRage @insomniacgames Let's ignore how "we" is pushing it (media man that joined years after the trilogy, none of the og devs on board or in thread lol) and how you appear to be doing damage control for your company's PR.
Even then you *were* asking it for free and you *were* rude, I'm glad we agree.

@ring0flaming0 @DavionBlackwing @NixyroS @MomokaRage @insomniacgames We clearly don’t own the statue or any rights to the IP. Since it’s tied to a game /we did/ make we think it’s cool.
Back in those days the publisher didn’t always give you the cool E3 displays for your office 🤷♂️

I don’t even know where to start... So, my boyfriend showed me this Instagram reel of a Spyro the Dragon statue. The sad part? It’s sitting in an abandoned building. The cool part? It was only 45 minutes away from us! I rewatched the reel a million times and tried to message the creator for details, but they gatekept the location.
So, I took matters into my own hands and spent hours tracking it down. I posted on Reddit, and some amazing people reached out with the coolest history on this thing. Turns out, this exact statue was an exclusive promotional piece used all the way back at E3 for Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon! In the old photos, he was perched way up on a high stand looking awesome. Sadly, looking closely at the reel, his wings are missing now—but he’s still dope. After E3, the statue was bought by or donated to The Arc Arcade in Astoria. When the arcade shut down in 2018, the statue basically vanished... until now.
Once I finally pinpointed the address, I had to track down the property owner, just crossing my fingers that he’d actually know what I was talking about. Because honestly, who calls a stranger first thing in the morning asking about a giant purple dragon?
By the time I gathered all this info it was 3 AM, and I was wide awake like an owl, but I had to get some sleep for work. I finally called the owner around 10 AM. I asked if he owned the building, and he said yes. Then I asked if he knew what that huge thing visible through the glass door was.
His response? “Oh, that purple lizard thing? I don’t know! It was there when I bought the building in 2021, and I have no idea what to do with it.”
I was absolutely losing it such a hilarious response. Then, he literally asked me, “Can you just come take it on Monday?” and I was like, “Uh, YES!”
If everything goes smoothly, I’m going to keep him in storage while I work on restoring him, with the goal of displaying him at a gaming expo in the future. Wish me luck and fingers crossed we get this baby out of there! #spyrothedragon #spyro #retrogaming #insomniacs

@DavionBlackwing @NixyroS @MomokaRage @JamesStevenson @insomniacgames Guy said he'd restore it, it's his now. "Oohh but maybe they won't be able to restore it" okay maybe they won't restore it at all and keep it in a warehouse too ? All you're doing is saying "maybe" and saying I might be butthurt for maybe spyro 4, you're an ass and he's corpo
English

@DavionBlackwing @NixyroS @MomokaRage @JamesStevenson @insomniacgames That's a lot of "maybe" and "good chances", and so far the only incentive we saw was their marketing guy on twitter offering to "repatriate it" for"a forever home", that doesn't sound like "we're impressed with your efforts at preservation" but"can we have it for free ?(corporate
