@Cro_zzle @Martin_Durkin It’s unfortunate that Reform fails to acknowledge Christianity’s central role in restoring our values and culture. It’s also a mistake to distance itself from Tommy Robinson. The man is a truly heroic individual by any measure.

This freedom hating Labour Government is hellbent on destroying Britain’s pubs and hospitality sector.🍻 We are losing 50 pubs every month and policies like this will cripple the sector. Pubs and hospitality businesses also face Beer Duty rises and other tax hikes in next month's Budget. Labour is failing to support Britain’s businesses to grow.
The Telegraph@Telegraph

🔴 Pubs could be forced to close their doors early under “nanny state” measures to target harmful drinking. Find out more 👇 telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/…

@JamesCleverly You're so right, James. Talk IS cheap, your party have regularly demonstrated that over the last 14 years! What ISN'T cheap is my mortgage since Princess Lettuce screwed up the economy- all on your watch.

@NadineDorries There's only one problem with this, Nadine. We don't care anymore. The Tories are finally reaping what they sowed and you were part of the whole sorry show. Since the election, the grownups are now back in the room. Good riddance to the lot of you!

The new leader of the Conservative Party must be someone who is brave and fearless. A culture has grown within CCHQ over a number of years which is toxic, immoral and corrupt. With an anger that comes from within his or her heart, a new leader must walk into CCHQ and turn over the tables of the moneylenders and banish those responsible. And, that’s just the start. Those who insist Dougie Smith is not that bad, or Cummings is in the past, or Gove has no influence or Robbie Gibb is a has a been, or Mark McGregor is long gone, or Oliver Dowden is just scared of Smith and is ineffectual, or Smith’s wife, Mirza is just lending Badenoch a hand…or Gove’s not really hands on in the Badenoch campaign are deliberately or unwittingly concealing a much deeper problem. It is rooted in the belief that the future of the party belongs to the few. A small number of individuals and that neither MPs or members have the right or the ability to manage or to govern. The first victim of the core group who have de stabilised the party over many years was Norman Tebbit. He wrote about his experience in the Spectator and the Telegraph back in Sept and Oct 2002. Tebbit wrote, ‘All the papers have been briefed, I am to be thrown out of the party…. He then had to survive repeated attempts to have him expelled and wrote a letter to the Telegraph in order to expose the grouping which back then rather pathetically styled themselves as The Movement. Lord Tebbit wrote, MPs and three leading journalists, have coalesced into one organisation styled ‘The Movement.’ The Telegraph had followed up with an article written by a young Rachel Sylvester, about the direction the Movement were taking the party, commenting on Mark MacGregor, then the Tories chief executive and Dominic Cummings the director of strategy who had both taken the lead in CCHQ. MacGregor, Smith, Cummings, were key players in the Movement and it was the beginning of a grouping which exists today. One article quotes Cummings as saying, ‘They are not going to know what’s hit ’em,’ referring to party members. It would appear he’s always loathed the party membership as much as he loathes MPs. Lots of sources had told me that Gove and Cummings went back to 2002, which is when they were both working for / assisting IDS. Gove was a journalist at The Times until 2005. Given that Tebbit said that they were putting pressure on IDS to banish him, it didn’t take a genius to work out that Gove, the man I believe is now helping to run Badenoch’s campaign was possibly one of the journalists Tebbit was referring to? I write this bcse it’s important that MPs understand how deep the grip is that certain individuals have on the party. How they play people for fools whilst beneath the surface the party is crumbling. #ThePlot Next tweet will be about Sue Gray, who Gove insisted to BJ write the party gate report, what she specifically asked the PM for when she was writing it and those who mysteriously weren’t mentioned at all, despite their activities and their connections.

@themichaelowen The FA needs to appoint the best candidate. As to where they come from, that shouldn’t even come into the equation. The England Women's team have a Dutch coach, under whom they won the Euros in 2022.

I would love Eddie Howe as England manager but he’s already in a top job. I’d be right behind The FA appointing Graham Potter too. Whatever we do, I’m of the opinion that the England manager should be English.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

@vanitawinkler @BorisJohnson I think you'll find that Farage is supposed to be representing the constituents of Clacton, given that they have just voted him in as their MP. And do tell us how exactly he will "put the world right" when he's not even in Government. Cloud cuckoo land!

Great to meet President Trump who is on top form after the shameful attempt on his life. We discussed Ukraine and I have no doubt that he will be strong and decisive in supporting that country and defending democracy.

Maybe for the first time in his life Rishi Sunak is being judged on his ability to lead & influence & on relatability. For once, his privilege & wealth isn’t enough to get him through. It’s a rude, even cruel, awakening for him. On a human level do you have any sympathy for him?

@juliahobsbawm @IainDale @NickFerrariLBC @LBC Trouble is, he can't just come back to LBC, he resigned. He'd also get flack from certain groups of listeners who'd revel in him returning "with his tail between his legs". I'm sure he'll find another job in broadcasting but it's unlikely we'll ever see him back at LBC again.
