Btw, Martín Zubimendi’s biggest problem comes from misprofiling, he was the wrong profile for Arsenal’s needs at the time he was signed. Arsenal essentially signed a Gundogan-type midfielder (not as complete, not as technical, not the same level of quality) to replace Jorginho and Partey at the 6. Zubimendi isn’t a passer/controller 6. He has too many technical deficiencies in his game to play that role consistently, and even his biomechanics don’t support it, he staggers a bit when handling the ball, which makes him easier to target under pressure. His best qualities aren’t buildup orchestration, deep receiving, or first-phase ball progression. His strengths are second-phase play connecting and box crashing. He’s more of a second-phase/pseudo-final-third midfielder than a buildup one. With the emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Arsenal likely signing Mateus Fernandes, both better first-phase midfielders and ball progressors, Zubimendi’s only saving grace is a role shift. Arteta has to use him as a second-phase connector/box-crashing midfielder. That role isn’t even particularly important in Arsenal’s current setup, but it’s the only realistic way to accommodate him. He’s definitely heading into a squad-role status next season, not a nailed-on starter anymore.

Zubimendi messed up, but Raya’s positioning gives the opponents an idea of what to do next. Same thing for free kicks

@mjfree He got in because how bad things had got and were getting, people get fed up. We are in a similar situation here in the UK where we have no strong candidates or leadership, our country is awful and a bleak future, again this opens up doors for people to vote differently
