I will greatly miss Henry Kissinger. He was always extraordinarily generous towards me— an undiplomatic economist. His combination of intellectual brilliance, intense curiosity and human shrewdness is not something I expect to ever again encounter. For 47 years after leaving office Henry Kissinger stayed at the center of global events. That must be a record. In my last conversation with him a few weeks ago he was totally engaged around the many threats facing Israel, and also very worried about the many threats to global order. RIP my friend.

I'm officially done with $ETH. Ive used Ethereum exclusively as my layer one since since 2017. Bought, traded, stored tens of millions of USDT/C, tokens over last six years. IM DONE. It doesnt work. Its slow, expensive, bloated. Defi is broken. And not even decentralized. $30 defi transactions. $7 USDT transactions. Non-stop fee/transmit errors (still pay fee tho). And Im not even dumb enough to store/trade worthless JPG URLs. Possibly the most useless tech ever created. @VitalikButerin failed, and the worst part is, over the last six yeara no one has created a legit alternative. $BNB LOL $SOL broken/centralized $ADA centralized Everything else, also broken/centralized. I hate crypto. The most useless 'industry' ever created.

@SexyLikeMeiosis How do you define intelligence? I think most people just think of it as "how much ability people have to solve problems" and since the problems are human problems, it's hard to conceive of a non-human intelligence because the problems are non-human.

our general understanding of intelligence is extremely anthropocentric and i, for one, welcome its expansion... but I'm looking to mycological superorganisms, biomimicry, whalesong, etc for that transformative moment, rather than AI 🍄🌱🐳

@DynamicWebPaige Some napkin math: With my machine and some limits on some variables, there were almost 300 ways for me to make espresso on my machine. But then you dial it down and then after like 10 test shots (I am a newbie) I got some decent espresso.

@DynamicWebPaige Take the patisserie. Espresso is not that difficult and you can watch a few Youtube videos to learn the basics. Espresso technique is easy, the difficulty is experimenting and figuring the coffee you like, the dosage, and the other variables.

@SamanthaSnyder The point is looking at the journey of the characters and how they traverse the systems they live in. The characters are tragic and even when you're on vacation, your emotional baggage travels with you. 2nd season is so boring though.

Just finished watching the first season of The White Lotus and I'm still not entirely sure what I just watched or when the show is supposed to pickup a plot. Or is the point that it has no plot?
