A joint investigation by the German publication Süddeutsche Zeitung and the Venezuelan media outlet Armando Info has revealed that Vantara, owned by Anant Ambani, the youngest son of the Reliance chairperson, Mukesh Ambani, has received at least thirty-nine thousand wild animals from over thirty countries since 2022. Several of the imported animals in Vantara actually belong to species that are subject to an international trade ban, under the CITES. The report notes that Vantara has been under international scrutiny for bypassing restrictions under the CITES, possibly with cover from the Indian government. আমি সিনেমার প্রযুক্তিগত দিকটির কোন সমঝদার নই. তাই ‘বেঙ্গল ফাইলস'-এর সম্বন্ধে সেরকম কোন মন্তব্য করব না। শুধু এইটুকু বলব যে, বাঙালি হিন্দুর উপর বাঙালি মুসলমান যে অমানুষিক নির্যাতন করেছে গান্ধীবাদী ও মার্ক্সবাদী কুশিক্ষার বশবর্তী হয়ে তার ইতিহাস চেপে রাখা হয়েছিল। এর বিরুদ্ধে বিবেক অগ্নিহোত্রী যে বিদ্রোহ ঘোষণা করেছেন সেইজন্যই তিনি প্রশংসার যোগ্য। এই সাহস কোন বাঙালি হিন্দুর হয় নি। প্রসঙ্গত, সংগীতা দত্ত নামক এক বাঙালি মহিলা এই ব্যাপারে ‘শরণার্থী' নামে একটি স্বল্প বাজেটের ছবি বানাচ্ছেন। এঁর প্রচেষ্টাটি আর্থিক সাহায্যের দাবী রাখে। যদি কেউ সাহায্য করতে চান আমাকে জানাতে পারেন।

The Bengal Files দেখলাম । খোলা হাওয়া আয়োজিত বিশেষ screening এ । আমি ব্যক্তিগতভাবে খুব অ্যাকশন বা ভায়োলেন্স এর ছবি একটু এড়িয়ে চলি । যদিও যে বিষয় নিয়ে ডিল করেছে এই ছবি তাতে এটা অবধারিত। ডিরেক্ট অ্যাকশন ডে বা নোয়াখালির ঘটনা ঘটেছিল। সেটা অস্বীকার তো করা যায় না ।এখন এ ছবিতে ফ্রেম টু ফ্রেম বাস্তব, তথ্যনিষ্ঠ না কিছু অতিরঞ্জন আছে সেটা একমাত্র বলতে পারবেন ইতিহাসবিদরা । বর্তমান প্রেক্ষাপটও রয়েছে অনেকটাই । একটু দীর্ঘ লেগেছে যদিও । গুলাম চরিত্রে মিঠুনদার ছেলে জাত চেনালো এটা বলতেই হবে ।দর্শক দায়িত্বশীল ও পরিণতমনস্ক কি না সেটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ।

পূর্ব পাকিস্তান ও বাংলাদেশে বাঙালি হিন্দুর উপর বাঙালি মুসলমান যে অমানুষিক নির্যাতন করেছে তা নিয়ে আমি অনেকদিন ধরে বলছি ও লিখছি। ইদানীং বিবেক অগ্নিহোত্রী ছবি করেছেন। এই বাঙালি মুসলমান পশ্চিমবঙ্গের চটিচাটা বেকারবাহিনী গালাগালি দিয়ে, চিৎকার করে আকাশ ফাটাচ্ছে। কিন্তু কেউ বলতে পারছে না যে আমরা যা বলছি তা সত্য নয়। শয়তানের সব চেয়ে বেশি ভয় সত্যকে!
