It was great having @marusiazel @schuhlab for her lab rotation within the IMPRS Molecular Biology Master Program. She presented her project, supervised by Nina, in our large seminar room. Congratulations on sucessfully finishing - well done!🎉#researchtogether #posterpresentation

🌟A perfect way to wrap up the year with my PhD work published in @NatureComms! Huge thanks to @SchuhLab, @mpi_nat & all the co-authors🧬🔬Curious about #chromosome segregation and #aneuploidy in #meiosis? Check out our study below👇#Oocytes #Microscopy #Reproduction #Fertility
Schuh Lab@SchuhLab

Why are some chromosomes like #21 in Down syndrome more error-prone in mammalian eggs? 🤔 Our new study in @NatureComms reveals why acrocentric chromosomes often mis-segregate, causing aneuploidy and miscarriages. (1/9) nature.com/articles/s4146…

@Repro_Fertility Does this imply that prior FET cycles negatively influence the outcome of the consecutive embryo transfers? #RaFJC

🔍 The authors wondered if something was hidden and re-evaluated all the data. The logistic regression analyses reveal key factors linked to #PregnancyLoss after euploid embryo transfer: 👉Endometrial preparation 👉Uneven blastomeres 👉Embryo quality 👉Number of prior FET cycles

🕵️Are there other embryo parameters that we are missing? Morphokinetic parameters were analysed in 523 euploid embryos. Besides a higher presence of uneven blastomeres in the total #PregnancyLoss, no significant differences were observed according to pregnancy outcomes. #RaFJC

@Repro_Fertility Uneven cleavage in blastomeres is commonly considered a primary cause of aneuploidy. However, this data suggests that it may also contribute to pregnancy loss following the transfer of euploid embryos. #RAFjc #RAF

Oocytes are arrested in prophase to give them enough time to grow and accumulate sufficient maternal components.🥚 Our @NatureComms study led by @shiya_cheng reveals two mechanisms repressing cyclin B1 translation to maintain this arrest. bit.ly/4fVHgMz (1/6)

Each month an #egg is ovulated from the #ovary, starting the journey of reproduction. But how does ovulation occur?🥚 Our latest work in @NatureCellBio led by @LastChrisThomas and @Tabea_Marx, describes the control of #ovulation using live imaging. bit.ly/3Ya8dEL (1/7)
