@lawrencecchen @jonathanlowhy @steipete Awesome, just grabbed the latest update and confirmed it's working
English

@scottmcpherson @jonathanlowhy @steipete should work in latest version (0.64.9); we had to fix some info.plist stuff
English

@steipete This is working great with cmux. It even interacts with the dev build of my Tauri desktop app, which codex and claude computer use couldn't do.
English

@scottmcpherson I wrote my own computer use, works great. peekaboo.sh
English

I'm late to the party, but cmux is great. github.com/manaflow-ai/cm…
current split:
codex mac app: knowledege work, learning, reading
cmux + codex cli: coding

English

@jonathanlowhy @steipete Codex computer use works good in desktop, ghostty CLI, but the issue is when I try to use it in cmux. It doesn't work with cmux for me.
English

@scottmcpherson @steipete Codex computer use is just a MCP. If you have Codex Desktop installed and computer use is supported, Codex CLI can call it too.
English

@dhh Opus still wins at UI/UX work, but gpt-5.5 is better at almost everything else.

Skills are a knowledge/action abstraction layer. They're very useful for repeatable workflows you'd otherwise have to re-prompt from scratch.
@levelsio@levelsio
I never use skills, I think they're kinda overrated, it's just text files? I just tell my clanker what to do and how which is similar I think

I'm obsessed with @uniqlo ever since my luggage got lost in a trip to Tokyo and i had to buy a completely new wardrobe
Amazing basics across their airism and heattech lines, the former great for hot Austin Summer, the latter great for lake Tahoe winters
Fabric technology is just insane!

@OpenAIDevs This is awesome, but it doesn't work with electron/tauri apps that are dev builds.
English

It’s Codex Thursday, and yes, we have updates for you.
First up: Appshots, a new way to bring the context of what you’re working on into Codex.
On your Mac, press Command-Command to attach your app window to a Codex thread. Codex gets both a screenshot and text from the window, including content beyond what’s visible onscreen.
Appshots are available across plans on Mac, with enterprise access coming soon.

@thsottiaux @ajambrosino Great work @ajambrosino and team. It's the first agentic app where I find myself doing as much coding as in the TUI, if not more.
English

I like to think that Codex is the work of a great team working together in unison. It's the most collaborative team I've gotten the chance to work with.
But I don't think we could have done it without @ajambrosino's magic. He's been the driving force behind what makes the Codex app the app that everyone wants to emulate. And we are barely getting started.

@jpschroeder I have the agent create an implementation doc x.com/scottmcpherson…

@steipete They really need a $100/mth plan. I can't imagine that $20/mth plan getting you very far?
English

Oh right i realize hell freezes over, we reached the point where app > cli
That combined with the speed increase also means less windows necessary, codex goes brrrr now! developers.openai.com/codex/app/

If you don't let up on yourself and instead become comfortable always operating with some level of pain, you will evolve at a faster pace. That's just the way it is.
Every time you confront something painful, you are at a potentially important juncture in your life--you have the opportunity to choose healthy and painful truth or unhealthy but comfortable delusion. The irony is that if you choose the healthy route, the pain will soon turn into pleasure. The pain is the signal! Like switching from not exercising to exercising, developing the habit of embracing the pain and learning from it will "get you to the other side." #principleoftheday

@mattshumer_ It's a great coding model. On par with Anthropic's, and in some cases, even better. I still prefer Claude Code, but have been using gpt-5 in Cursor more and more
English

@pontusab gemini-embedding-001 is such a good model for embeddings and vector similarity search.
