Transcript from tense Armed Services Hearing. REP. AUSTIN SCOTT/R-GA: "General LaNeve, I don't envy the position you're in. We had brief time to talk over the last week or so, but, as you know, General (Randy) George, extremely well respected. Well-liked by many of us. He and his wife, Patty, 38 years of service to the country, specifically the United States Army. I've read all of the news reports about why he was dismissed, but I would like to hear from you. why was General George dismissed?" GENERAL LANEVE/VICE CHIEF OF STAFF, U.S. ARMY: "Sir, that's a question for Secretary Hegseth. I've been the vice for a couple of months now. We honor the service of of General George and his wife and generals that were dismissed." REP. SCOTT/R-GA: "If our top general officers are removed without justification from their positions for providing honest, objective advice, which is something that I always knew General George to give, then I fear that it's going to have a trickle down effect. It's going to be devastating. To the other officers and and especially how their spouses feel about continuing to spend their lives in service. This is a team sport. The officer and the spouse are in this together. And I think that that General George and his wife, Patty, I think they were very unfairly treated. And I would appreciate it if the Secretary of Defense would be forthcoming with whether or not four names were removed from the list. I'm less concerned about race and gender than I am, why they were removed from the list, and if he has individually changed the way we're going to handle the promotion and the selection and promotion of our general officers in the military."

"I think Gen. George and his wife were very unfairly treated," says @AustinScottGA08 during a House Armed Services hearing, referring to Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George abruptly ousted this month. Scott then asked Army Vice Chief of Staff Christopher LaNeve if Hegseth personally pulled four names from an Army general officer promotion list. "That’s a question for Sec. Hegseth," said LaNeve. Scott: "If I could get through to anyone over there I would. If they were removed I would like to know why."

@TeamTrump47 @FoxNews @SecWar I think it's good to have reporters who are not fans of whomever is in White House. You need both. That's how you get closer to truth. I like different perspectives. She's a good reporter. Don't always agree but I think she does more reporting than analysis. As she should

Imagine if @FoxNews would hire someone to cover our military who, actually likes, the commander-in-chief of our military. She can’t even talk about our @SecWar without being snarky and rude. I know a lot of people see what I see!

I’m fully aware that this job requires tons of travel and crazy hours, but it does indeed bug me that I’m here in DC at 11:30pm voting (for the 4th time!) to fully fund the Homeland budget and missing my kids hoops game tomorrow morning back in Washington because the Senate pulled their BS stunt last night. 🇺🇸

She owes the administration...which is why she went that time to say sorry and pledge allegiance to trump...but the algorithm gets you paid...and enragement is the coin of the realm. That's why it is so raw and over the top

@ShawnRyan762 We shouldn't be surprised. But alas, we are. It's hard to believe what I'm seeing though it's happening.

When the American empire finally collapses, historians won't be stunned by the greed of the elite; they'll be stunned by the loyalty of the poor. The working class didn't just vote against their own interests. They worshipped the billionaires robbing them. They slashed their own benefits, gutted their own healthcare, and cheered while the rich wrote off private jets as tax deductions. Not because it helped them. But because they were told it would hurt someone else. And that, right there, is how you rig a democracy without even breaking a single law. This was a comment I saw under my content. I must say… Perfectly articulated.

"I don't think taking [Greenland] by force is something we're really going to do. I believe that is leverage in negotiation," @gen_jackkeane tells me. "Listen, the president is somewhat unorthodox in how he goes about making deals, and we've all seen it... at the end of the day, with some creativity and imagination, we can work an economic and a security deal that will benefit the United States, Greenland, and also Denmark."

After everything we’ve seen unfold with Somali fraud over these last few months, Congress, including Republicans, is planning to sign off on more refugee welfare. We need to pass my End Welfare for Non-Citizens Act to stop the refugee rip-off.

I introduced the CARE Act a few months ago to restore the original intent of refugee programs in our country: if you sponsor someone to come here, you are responsible for their care, not the federal government. It combines compassion with accountability.

We have a lot ahead of us in 2026. Taking Greenland shouldn’t be on that list. Instead, we should continue building relationships—through trade, tourism, cultural exchange, and indigenous governance—rather than sending provocative messages that undo decades of trust.

I oppose socialism everywhere but that’s not today’s debate. The question is simple: Does the Constitution allow one person to take us to war without Congress? The answer is no. War powers belong to the people’s representatives. Full stop. youtube.com/watch?v=55DAbU…

Multiple legislators - Republicans and Democrats, including Cong Jim Himes, Ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee say Admiral Mitch Bradley confirmed to Congress in closed briefings there was no "kill them all order" from Secretary Hegseth or "order to grant no quarter" for September 2 strike on suspected drug vessel in Caribbean Sea.
