Congratulations East Bengal on the league triumph after a wait of 22 years. For a side that had its best finish of ninth in the Indian Super League (ISL) prior to this season, this triumph is even more special. There were doubts, stumbles, but all’s well that ends well.

The decision to continue as coach of East Bengal for next season is totally @obruzon 's. One thing he will realise, he will not see the passion and emotions he witnessed last night from the Red & Gold fans. From the position he took over as East Bengal coach last season to making them champions of ISL this season is a stupendous effort. Bruzon now has won league titles in Maldives, Bangladesh & India.

I must confess I didn't see a team, as studded with stars as #MumbaiIndians is, come apart like this. The only possible indicator could have been that, Bumrah apart, the others hadn't had an outstanding T20WC. But nobody could have predicted this. I had thought aloud about a hypothesis on my YT channel that reputation is becoming a burden in modern T20 cricket as a possible reason. I don't know if all the forces within were aligned but that could be another. And the experiment with Hardik Pandya as captain is now 3 years old and it has delivered a play-off only once so maybe something isn't working there. But I bet nobody saw #MI not making the play-offs.

This is ridiculous. This is the 21st century, and lacs around the world come to India for medical opinion and procedures. Any scan could have been done in India, and sent to Australia, where their physios and docs could have examined it to their hearts content before pronouncing an opinion. To fly someone around 20,000 km both ways to do the same is absolutely ridiculous, unfair on him and the SRH franchise. And if there was any other reason to get him to travel, Cricket Australia, in the spirit of transparency, should let everyone know.
