@Ninethie my assumption is that in this timeline the courier died when benny shot them and benny died on the way to the strip or bunker and the events played out as if the courier never got involved in the Mojave and the platinum chip went missing.

The only reason the are “shrugged off” is because the space marines are faster. Tau are slow with slow reaction times a space marines can just dodge.
