Another billion dollar data center proposal, this time in the small town of Osawatomie, Kansas
This 600,000 sq ft data center would be in a town of only 4,200 people
It’ll use 150,000 homes worth of power and 1 million gallons of water per day
The 116 acres is full of birds, frogs, insects and open land that will be wiped out
Residents are very worried about strain on the local river, summer water shortages and downstream impacts
Don’t we have enough data centers already

Starlink just crossed 9 million customers, less than two months after hitting 8 million.
It's adding 21,000 new users every day across 155 countries, with 9,000 satellites in orbit.
Operating income doubled last year to $4.42 billion, more than covering losses across the rest of SpaceX.
Elon calls it "by far" the company's largest revenue driver.
It started as a bet that low-orbit satellites could deliver broadband where cable never reached.
