As we officially wait for the Illinois 9th Congressional District race to be called, let me say the following. I mean no disrespect to those who supported or voted for Hoan Huynh. What I am about to say is personal and simply my reflection on the man. Oh, Hoan Huynh—you gambled on a bigger run and came up short. You already held a solid position as state representative for Illinois’ 13th District. With a little patience, you could have done meaningful work for your constituents. Instead, arrogance and hubris got in the way. I haven’t forgotten how you took my kindness for weakness when I went out of my way to help you win that state representative seat in 2022. And I certainly haven’t forgotten how you backed out of your promised support. No one owes me anything, but I wanted to see if you would follow through—and you did not—when I ran for the Chicago 24th Police District Council. Now look where things are—time wasted. You couldn’t keep a hospital from closing in your district, you couldn’t effectively sell your own “frightful” encounter with ICE, and now you’ve lost. You flew too close to the sun, Icarus, and got burned. I won’t pretend I’m not enjoying this big L you just took. By next January, you’ll be unemployed and dealing with Trump’s economy. That’s rough. You could always apply at Target—I’m sure they’ll hire you, even if they’re anti-DEI. Or maybe Tank Noodle in Viet Town, after those Trump-loving chuckle-fks were slipping you a few bucks under the table for campaign contributions. I’M GLAD YOU DID SO POORLY. 🙂 Goodbye—and thank you entertaining me with your self-own.
