@CWitvrouwen It is photos like these that speak 1000 words to our situation. An exquisite narrative presented in this picture. Beautiful. Sad. True. Now what can you/I/we do? Today.

@Elizabeth_Ruler these three losers, under their guys of trophy hunting, deprive the rest of humanity from the absolute joy of seeing these animals in the wild. And what are they gonna do, skin them and put them on the floor in their living room? Greed and empty depravity.

Historic First: Artemis II Crew Becomes the First Humans to Witness the Orientale Basin in Its EntiretyBREAKING: In a stunning milestone for deep-space exploration, the Artemis II astronauts have captured the first-ever view of the Moon’s Orientale Basin with human eyes — seeing its complete, majestic structure for the first time in history. As the Orion spacecraft swept past the lunar limb during its historic flyby, the crew photographed the entire basin in one breathtaking frame, with Earth hanging beautifully in the black void beyond.A 930-Kilometer Cosmic BullseyeThe Orientale Basin is one of the Moon’s most impressive geological features — a massive multi-ringed impact structure roughly 930 km (580 miles) across. Formed about 3.8 billion years ago by a colossal asteroid or comet strike, its concentric rings ripple outward like frozen waves from a stone dropped into a cosmic pond. The outermost Cordillera ring forms the dramatic outer rim, while inner rings (the Rook mountains) mark zones of dramatic crustal rebound and collapse after the initial impact. Because Orientale straddles the Moon’s near and far sides near the southwestern limb, it has always appeared severely foreshortened and partially hidden from Earth-based telescopes and earlier missions. Only now, from Orion’s unique vantage during the flyby, has the full scale and symmetry been revealed directly to human observers. The Shot of a LifetimeThe image was taken through an Orion window as the crew passed over the site at just the right moment — with perfect illumination highlighting every ridge, ring, and shadow. It’s not just a photo. It’s a pivotal new dataset that complements decades of orbital data from Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, GRAIL’s gravity maps, and earlier probes.Entering the Zone of SilenceAs Orion continues its trajectory around the Moon, the crew is now heading into the most isolated phase of the mission: loss of signal. For roughly 40 minutes, the bulk of the Moon will completely block all radio communication with Earth, leaving Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen in profound solitude on the far side. They are venturing where only a handful of Apollo astronauts have gone before — deeper into cislunar space, pushing the boundaries of human exploration farther than any crew since 1970.The Moon is yielding its secrets once again… and humanity is watching live. This is what returning to the Moon — and preparing for Mars — truly looks like.

I had a crazy client today: My head was splitting this morning. Too many spicy margs at the Moose. My client is "Brad." Private equity, NYC. He shows up late, yelling at his assistant on the phone, and snaps his fingers at me to carry his skis. He’s wearing a heated vest and brand new Kastles, but is already complaining about the grooming report before we even made it out!!! First thing he says to me: "I didn't hire you for pizza-french-fry bullshit. I ski Chamonix and Aspen. I’m paying for line cutting and steep terrain. Do not mollycoddle me or I’m getting you fired." He then proceeded to make a really gross comment about the teenage girl working the lift ticket scanner. Just a total piece of shit. We pack into the Tram. Big Red is crowded. Brad is literally shoving locals with his elbows to get a window spot. He turns to me and says, loud enough for the whole car to hear, "So, do you have a real job in the summer or do you just mooch off unemployment?" We get to the top of Rendezvous. Visibility is garbage. "Alright Brad," I say. "You said you want the steeps? You said don't baby you?" "Give me the scariest thing on this hill," I lead him straight to the edge of Corbet’s Couloir. "This is the entrance," I yell over the wind. "Since you ski Chamonix, this should be a warm-up." He looks over the cornice. It’s a 20-foot freefall into a 40-degree chute (particularly icy today). "Where's the ramp?" he asks. "Ramp's for tourists, Brad. You said no mollycoddling." I don't wait. I hop turn, send the drop, stick the landing in the soft stuff, and rip giant GS turns all the way down to the Tensleep traverse. I stop and look up. Through the fog, I see a red speck frozen at the lip. He’s side-stepping back up the ridge and blocking the drop-in for three Teton Gravity Research guys who are filming. They are screaming at him. I skied straight to the Village Cafe. I’m currently on my third slice of pizza and drinking a pitcher of PB while writing this. Hope you've having a powder day - JH is great at the moment, despite some rude clients! Corbet's Couloir pic attached

@NUCLRGOLF They did not just leave, they also spoke poorly about the PGA tour that gave them opportunities and really made them… and then filed a lawsuit suit against them… played resort golf and wanted it recognized like it was PGA tour… not. And the split hurt the game over all. Pay.

🚨🔙⛳️ #WELCOME BACK — Rory McIlroy says he would be ready to welcome LIV golfers back to the PGA Tour including Bryson DeChambeau without further penalties. “I think they’ve already paid their consequence. They’ve made the money but they’ve paid their consequence in terms of the reputation and some of the things they’ve lost by going over there.” “If it made the overall tour stronger to have Bryson DeChambeau back and whoever else, I would be okay with it. But it’s not just me, and I recognize that not everyone is in my position. It would be up to the collective group of PGA Tour members to make that decision.” Would you like to see Bryson back on the PGA Tour? (Via @WeAreTheOverlap)

Roald Dahl on Measles: Olivia, my eldest daughter, caught measles when she was seven years old. As the illness took its usual course I can remember reading to her often in bed and not feeling particularly alarmed about it. Then one morning, when she was well on the road to recovery, I was sitting on her bed showing her how to fashion little animals out of coloured pipe-cleaners, and when it came to her turn to make one herself, I noticed that her fingers and her mind were not working together and she couldn’t do anything. 'Are you feeling all right?' I asked her. 'I feel all sleepy,' she said. In an hour, she was unconscious. In twelve hours she was dead. The measles had turned into a terrible thing called measles encephalitis and there was nothing the doctors could do to save her. That was...in 1962, but even now, if a child with measles happens to develop the same deadly reaction from measles as Olivia did, there would still be nothing the doctors could do to help her. On the other hand, there is today something that parents can do to make sure that this sort of tragedy does not happen to a child of theirs. They can insist that their child is immunised against measles. ...I dedicated two of my books to Olivia, the first was ‘James and the Giant Peach’. That was when she was still alive. The second was ‘The BFG’, dedicated to her memory after she had died from measles. You will see her name at the beginning of each of these books. And I know how happy she would be if only she could know that her death had helped to save a good deal of illness and death among other children. Roald Dahl, 1986

Earlier this year a Wyoming man, CODY ROBERTS, horrifically abused and killed a young female Wolf, an act that sparked national outrage and underscored the urgent need for stronger protections for Wolves and all wild animals. A grand jury has indicted Roberts on felony animal cruelty charges who faces up to two years in prison and fines of up to $5,000. Today Roberts appeared in court where he pleaded not guilty. The trial is set for March 9, 2026, in Sublette County District Court in Pinedale. Let’s hope he gets a long time in prison 😡😡!

Trump on Biden this morning: “He is a criminal and should be in jail. A major lowlife and failure. An ugly person, both inside and out. I beat him badly and love watching him squirm now.” What a shame, I never would have thought that a sitting president could make such a speech.
