Early testers are already running NØNOS across a range of environments from bare-metal hardware to virtualized setups such as Proxmox.
As expected for an alpha release, several early issues could be identified and now are being reported then tracked and addressed. This helps validating architecture and expanding hardware coverage through real-world testing.

OS-level identity verification collapses the trust boundary upward.
If the base execution layer enforces identity constraints, higher-layer privacy reduces to conditional anonymity under system policy.
In formal terms:
Persistent identity produces state linkage and longitudinal traceability.
A privacy-preserving execution model instead requires:
. Stateless boot
. Verifiable binaries
. Ephemeral state
. Identity-independent execution

🚨FYI: Gavin Newsom has already signed California Assembly Bill 1043 which mandates that operating systems including Windows, Linux, macOS, and FreeBSD implement system-level age (identity) verification. This takes effect on January 1st, 2027. Colorado also has a similar act called SB26-051 which is currently advancing through the committees and ready for full Senate consideration. It would come into effect on January 1st, 2028 if passed. Utah, Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama all currently have app layer verification laws, but not OS level YET. So OS level verification isn't a future thing. It's happening now. They are chokepointing the internet. Enjoy these days.
