@thestaggieman One of the all-time greatest, both him and Sunday Silence. They'd dominate today's horses by 10 lengths

1989 Belmont Stakes - Easy Goer Easy Goer spoiled Sunday Silence’s Triple Crown bid by running the second-fastest Belmont in history missing Secretariat's record by two seconds and winning by 8 lengths. Shows you how good Secretariat was!

@papa3671591 @thestaggieman I mean, he won 5 grade 1s in a row that summer, dominating each one against older horses, and only lost twice in the classics. Hell of a career. But I agree, Day screwed him in the Preakness and the BC Classic. I'll go to my grave thinking EG was better than SS, both were awesome

@thestaggieman Pat Day called him the best horse he ever rode…Pat IMO cost him the Preakness and also had an abysmal ride on him in the Derby…horse ran 1:32 and change on dirt for a mile…should have had a better career…but Sunday Silence was a pit bull

@thestaggieman And a fun fact Flightline is the fastest horse on thorograph. Thorograph started in 1982! Today is Monday May 18th 2026. So in 44 years of Thorograph been around Flightline is fastest horse on the sheet! I’ll wait for you old timers to come up with some bullshit

@BizSports1127 @GarrettRungo @thestaggieman And SS needed drugs. At the only track where drugs aren't allowed (Belmont), Easy Goer whipped his butt. Sunday Silence was awesome, the Goer was a smidge better. Plus, Pat Day was awful on him.

Thats like saying Dave Kingman was a better HR hitter than Hank Aaron because he hit them farther. Sunday Silence was 3-1 against him and won by FAR the 2 biggest races. Derby and BCC EG needed a souped up home cooking track to beat him once. Sunday Silence was better as proven on the racetrack

From payday to prison in the blink of an eye. Troopers pull over this moving truck and discover a massive 1.7m dollar drug bust. What started as a routine traffic stop on I-70 in Ohio turned into one of the largest cocaine seizures in Madison County history. Andrea Celaya-Rodriguez, 27, was behind the wheel of a Penske rental truck, claiming she was moving her life to Pennsylvania. But Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers noticed something off immediately. Her body language—rigid, clutching the wheel, and trying to "hide" behind the door pillar as she passed the cruiser—was a massive red flag. The Details: The Bust: A K9 unit alerted to the vehicle, leading troopers to a produce bin in the cargo area. Inside? Three duffel bags stuffed with 110 pounds (50 kilograms) of cocaine. The Street Value: Estimated at a staggering $1.75 million. The "Job": Celaya-Rodriguez later admitted to the DEA that she met a man in Mexico who offered her $50,000 to drive the "shoe boxes" (kilo bricks) from Arizona to New York. The Fake Move: Her rental agreement showed the truck was due back in Tucson, AZ, in just four days—a logistical impossibility for a cross-country move, which helped troopers dismantle her cover story. The Legal Fallout: Despite the roadside discussion about "working with them," the case went federal. In February 2025, Celaya-Rodriguez pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio to possession with intent to distribute cocaine. She now faces a recommended sentence of 33 to 41 months in federal prison. It’s a stark reminder that in the world of high-stakes interdiction, a "quick $50k" often costs you years of your life. That gut instinct of the officers led them to a huge hit that would have been on the streets if it was not for this great job by these troopers.

So the umpire at a kid’s baseball game, and who btw is a senior in high school, is more mature than a coach who throws a fit and decides to forfeit a game because he can’t be adult enough!! What exactly does this “coach” think he is teaching kids??? 💁🏻‍♀️

@thestaggieman @USASteeplechase Laffit Pincay, Sham’s legendary jock, said he was originally happy to see Big Red go that fast,to the lead that early. Thought Turcotte was cooking his ride. Years later he said he never saw a horse do that before and win so easily, and he hasn’t seen it since. Monster

This is what being hit intentionally looks like. I have no context to what happened, I don’t need it. Honestly there’s no reason a big leaguer (rehab) needs to hit a minor leaguer.

On this Kentucky Derby day, here’s your reminder that Secretariat was faster than any horse who has ever lived. The year is 1973 and this is his track record run. Untouched for 53 years. The GOAT.

@Super70sSports Secretariat was such an incredible horse. Poor Sham did his best but when they faced off at the Belmont they let Secretariat run at his full strength. In trying to match the insane pace Secretariat was going Sham became so exhausted he finished in last place.

@MegRemSoftball As someone who was a catcher all through high school, when you are trying to make a play in the field, the batter all but disappears. This was an accident.

There is a right way to play this game and a wrong way and this is 100% in the wrong. I don’t care that the batter moved back out of the box- you don’t intentionally step back to throw at her head, as hard as you can, from about a foot away. I don’t want to hear “you don’t know it wasn’t intentional.” Save it. The runner at 3rd is about a half step off 3rd. The way the catcher is positioned to throw, that throw is going towards the 3rd base fence. The most telling part though? No one checks on that batter and catcher gets a high five right after from her coach. The batter ended up with a concussion. This is completely unacceptable and has no place in this sport.
