I've had several people tell me recently that they've started biking because of new bike infrastructure that the City has built. Induced demand is a real thing for highways, but it's also a real thing for biking and transit. And it's so much more fun, healthy, and sustainable.

The 300 West reconstruction is wrapping up this summer. And if you think the corridor looks livelier than it did before, you are right. The project added over 200 trees to park strips along the roadway.

New neck downs and chicanes on McClelland St in the heart of Sugar House to slow cars and make for a more human-friendly connection between 2100 S and Sugarmont/S-Line

Transit nerds are some of my favorite people - those who get how important it is and can't help but study it and advocate for it. As a transportation professional, I've found transit to be the most interesting, challenging, yet rewarding of the travel modes to plan for.

Downtown SLC was hopping this weekend. Such a great city!

I love how biking is such a social activity Last night, I rode home partway with a colleague from Engineering, and we bumped into a BAC member starting his ride, then to top it off, I saw my son who happened to be out and we enjoyed riding together for the last leg home

SLC demonstration project showing that streets can do so much more than just move cars. Folks seem to really be enjoying this green, connective space. Can't wait to make the Green Loop permanent!

Enjoyed the press conference this morning for the Downtown SLC Green Loop demonstration project. Strong leadership from Mayor and Council on this. The project manager is a visionary landscape architect. Us traffic engineers are in a support role. Great model for street design.
