@networkrail successfully moved the new M6 Clifton bridge into position this morning. The 4000 tonne composite bridge, complete with ballast and catenary masts was moved into position over the M6 using SPMTs (self propelled modular transporters).

Ahead of their return to service for special trips during the Lightpool festival, you may spot two of our heritage trams out and about on the network this week for pre service checks.🚃 They will then be moved to Starr Gate depot in preparation for service. During these trial runs they are unable to carry passengers but details of how to book a place on one of the Lightpool specials will be announced in due course.
