@galluzzo_julian @lenonguyen @shipstudio_app "the best thing that can happen is to mimic it" haha. Appreciate it without stealing it, not hard. It's a lazy approach to creative work. The template you have shared is not a 'starting point' of Ilya's work, it's a copy. We clearly have different views on good creative practice

lots of claims, no explanations. like I said - I believe in credit where credit is due I've contacted the person who made this template and asked them to clearly attribute Osmo as the main inspiration behind the design. Creatives deserve credit for their work. when you apply your artistic direction to something and put it out into the world (be that a website, painting, song, invention, fashion, etc), you have contributed that to the world. the best thing that can possibly happen to you, as a creative, is that you set a trend - people see it, like it, and mimic it. now, people who see and appreciate Ilya's work can use this as a starting point for whatever they want to build, and Ilya's creativity will ripple through many other projects. when I started sharing ship studio, some of the people I shared it with directly took the features that I came up with and added them to their products. instead of whining about creativity and originality and artistic direction, I respect that they saw something good and then used it in their own product. once you put something out into the world, it is no longer your posession. keep creating

@galluzzo_julian @lenonguyen @shipstudio_app If you do not see the issue with almost directly ripping off someone else's artistic direction and putting it into the world as a template for other people to use, then there is genuinely no point in this discussion. It's a net negative in every way for creatives.

The hero, navbar style, and choice of colors are very clearly directly inspired by/taken from the Osmo site. Can people claim the right to navbar styles and hero layouts, and demand the removal of anything similar? If someone was taking this and saying it's their own original design, that's scummy. It would also be scummy to use this design to build a competing product to Osmo. This is a free community project. Much like when people release Webflow cloneables remaking the Apple site. I don't think Apple should be sending cease and desist letters to those creators, and I don't think Webflow should be taking them down. That being said, credit where credit is due. I've reached out to the creator to understand where he got the design from, and I will make sure they get it updated to clearly give credit to the amazing creatives who made the design to begin with.

@helloharuko Had looked into this a couple of months ago, it's a good idea but just not ideal in practice. Figma + components to make the build quicker still is best for now

Just spent three weeks in Sri Lanka and this is very much how I’m feeling coming back to screens. Being away from the noise will make you feel 100% better
Alex Aperios@AlexAperios

Being intentional with how you spend your time online has never been more important. The noise across X is nothing but FOMO formed content. Claude this, Article that. Use me today or you’ll be fazed out tomorrow. It’s mostly noise, rage bait, and engagement farming. If you look between the lines there’s so many great people doing amazing things. Follow @designertom if you want to find the best people. But the rest isn’t worth your time. Best thing you can do right now, spend an hour a day learning something that interests you and then spend the rest of your time working hard on what you love. Your job is still going to here, just be prepared for when it evolves. 💪🏼

Looking for a framer/webflow/something similar developer to help me on a relatively small project. Around 10-15 pretty basic pages to be built. Please reply with portfolio

Curious if agencies like Koto, Manual, North, Order, etc. are actually using tools like brandpad.io / standards.site (as their websites claim). Anyone have experience with the platforms? Would honestly love to stop building PDF guidelines

I honestly try use AI as little as possible, especially for stupid stuff like shopping lists or writing emails, but when you have no 3D skills or the budget for one, it offers a nice solution for specific and hopefully purposeful use cases

Managed to get almost exactly what I wanted (with a lot of fails) using @Weavy_ai. Clay plate in MJ, rough PS mockup with the logo and layer styles, image nodes with all+original logo, ran through a few image generators (nanobanana worked best) upscaled with Magnific creative...

is there a single good AI that can take your logo and add it to a scene with a texture? e.g. "please add my logo to this paper texture and apply a premium gold foil and subtle emboss effect". Tried a few today and really no luck without it editing the logo
