Nagar, Ranga Reddy District, convicted three accused persons in a case involving a 16-year-old minor girl. The accused were charged under the IPC and the POCSO Act. According to the complaint filed by the victim’s mother, she had separated from her husband and was working as a maid. During that period, she left her children in the care of her mother at Abubakar Colony, Kothapet. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝟭, Mohammad Azeem s/o Mohammad Saleem, age 25, occupation: mason, resident of Abubakar Colony, Kothapet village, Balapur Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, was found guilty of repeatedly committing sexual intercourse with the minor by using force and threats. He was sentenced to undergo life imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs. 22,000. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝟮, Mohammad Haleem s/o Mohammad Saleem, age 31, occupation: labour, resident of Abubakar Colony, Kothapet village, Balapur Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, was convicted for his role in threatening the complainant and victim and for forcibly making the victim consume abortifacient tablets that caused a miscarriage. He was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs. 6,000. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝟯, Smt. Jameela Begum w/o Mohammad Saleem, age 60, occupation: housewife, resident of Abubakar Colony, Kothapet village, Balapur Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, was likewise convicted for participating in the threats and forcing the victim to ingest pregnancy tablets causing miscarriage. She was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs. 6,000. The court also awarded victim compensation of Rs. 4,00,000.

Bandi Bageerath POCSO Case Update: 96 Hours After Looks like despite vernacular media going mute, blind and deaf plus losing all the mental capacity to think & act responsibly, the Telangana Congress Government has come under immense pressure. Social media showed its power in this case. Even on social media, a lot of paid content was pushed. Much worse, the details of the victim including her photos and videos have been widely shared. But, public anger was visible. They were properly informed & definitely well aware. Looks like, Telangana police just a while ago revised the original FIR, owing to this severe public pressure. The FIR registered on 8th May, had only Sections 74 and 75 and Sections 11 read with 12 of the POCSO Act. The sections only covered sexual harassment offences with maximum sentence of three to five years. The altered FIR now has Section 5(I) read with Section 6 of the POCSO Act. Invoking Section 5. The charges are now aggravated penetrative sexual assault. Section 5(I) of POSCO refers to penetrative sexual assault causing survivors severe bodily harm and injury or injury to the sexual organs of the child. Under Section 6 attracts a minimum of 20 years rigorous imprisonment, extendable to life imprisonment. Once proved Bandi Bageerath can be in jail for the rest of his life! Personally, I think he deserves strictest punishment possible. Men like him deserve to be behind the bars. Police say the change in sections happened after speaking to the rape survivor today afternoon. They finally realised the gravity of the offence committed by Union Minister of Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay’s son Bandi Bageerath. But, I have read the complaint copy filed on 8th May 10pm, the contents were horrific then too. Whoever filed the FIR deliberately did a botched job. And I think there was substantial evidence to back the assault on the minor child. Another important factor could be the interim bail petition that was filed before the vacation bench today. One of the arguments was how the sections filed would only attract 3 to 5 years maximum punishment and hence Bageerath deserves a bail. Public anger is so high in this case. If at any point Bandi Bageerath gets a bail on 14th May 2026, they would come on streets. It would go beyond control for the government. It is just the first step. A lot more needs to happen in this case. Hoping the tribulations of the victim’s family come to an end soon. Hoping they find justice and peace soon. They have endured a LOT already. Meanwhile! Don’t stop questioning. Especially when in comes to grievous offences like POCSO. Bandi Bageerath was given a notice to appear before the police tomorrow for investigation. Is he in the country, will he appear, will the media question - let’s see.

Bandi Bageerath POCSO Case Update: NOT ENOUGH TIME Bandi Bageerath mailed to Pet Basherabad Police that he needs two more days to appear because it was a very short notice. He says he doesn’t have enough time to bring the proofs and everything to show the officials. Today is Day 6 of POCSO case being filed on him, no arrest and no enquiry. Bandi Bageerath approached the vacation bench at the honourable Telangana High Court for an interim bail. The bail petition will be heard tomorrow. Bandi Bageerath’s father is Union Minister Bandi Sanjay’s son.

He also assured the SIT of his full cooperation in the ongoing investigation. He said—- I am unable to appear on the date appointed in the Notice. I, therefore. most respectfully request a short accommodation of two (02) days from the date appointed in the Notice, so as to enable me to collate the relevant material, documents and information in my possession that would meaningfully aid the investigation and assist the investigation into the false allegations made against me and my family, and thereafter appear before the undersigned officer in a duly prepared manner. I reiterate my unconditional willingness to join the investigation and undertake to appear before the undersigned officer on a date so accommodated, subject to such reasonable directions as may be issued in this regard. It is. therefore, most respectfully prayed that the aforesaid short accommodation of two days be kindly granted in the interest of a fair and effective investigation.

Honourable Chief Minister Sri. A. @revanth_anumula has directed @TelanganaDGP @CVAnandIPS to immediately initiate an investigation into the case registered against Bandi Bhagirath at Pet Basheerabad Police Station. The Chief Minister questioned the DGP over the delay in taking action despite the complaint having been lodged on the 8th. DGP C.V. Anand briefed the Chief Minister on the details of the case. The DGP informed the Chief Minister that the entire police force had been engaged in security arrangements in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Hyderabad. The Chief Minister instructed the DGP to constitute special teams for a comprehensive investigation into the case.
