AI can write now. Most AI docs still can’t land. Kami exists to fix that. 👩‍🚒Kami v1.3.0 is out. Good content deserves good paper. Kami is a layout design system for the AI era, built to make AI-generated documents clear, readable, and memorable. It uses one constraint language across six formats, simple enough for agents to run reliably, strict enough to keep the output coherent and ready to ship. This release brings a denser resume variant, two new slide layouts, stronger brand profile fields for more consistent voice and style, a shared travel block across deck and portfolio layouts, and tighter writing guides across all template types. It also fixes font drift, overflow issues, border artifacts, and layout regressions that quietly ruin otherwise good work. Less patching after generation. Less CSS babysitting. Less rendering surprise. More range. Better paper for AI-native writing. kami.tw93.fun

@tszzl @Teknium pushing the boundaries of human knowledge is great, but what about all the turmoil that will be caused in the short term? mass layoffs from automation, hyper-addicting slop content, concentration of power and capital to a select few. everyday people don’t want this and dislike AI

@Teknium models are solving unsolved open questions in mathematics. they’re recursively self programming. we have completely changed the way people use computers. you fixate on the products and experiences you don’t like because it sustains your self narrative

Joe Rogan on ICE: "You don't want militarized people in the streets just roaming around snatching people up, many of which turn out to actually be US citizens that just don't have their papers on them. Are we really going to be the Gestapo? ...Is that what we've come to?"

the mainline scenario seems to be that a bunch of tech companies locked in very close competition make Netflix subscription margins per month and humankind reaps an enormous amount of consumer surplus. In order for AI to even be the world changing thing that causes problems in the way you describe it has to live up to its promise of essentially ending many kinds of scarcity i remain convinced now as i have been for years that this is the most important thing we could ever do for mankind

Somebody please convince me otherwise, but lately I find the techno-optimism seems hollow. The pace of AI progress is increasing, as far as I can tell. Apparently, AGI is imminent. And can somebody tell me exactly what concrete progress is being made towards ensuring that it will “benefit all humanity?” I think people are mostly looking out for their own fortunes. To be honest: the normie view, which I take to be something like, “a small group of people in San Francisco aim to become fantastically wealthy and aren’t really concerned if they put everyone else out of work in the process” seems more and more convincing to me. And on the whole existential doom thing, I don’t really believe that AI has much risk of ending humanity as we know it, but the people building it do. So maybe I should take them at their word? I think AI is pretty incredible. I’m optimistic about its abilities to do increasingly amazing things. But when you have guys who look like comic book villains talking about how they want to buy galaxies...it’s a bit discouraging from a broader social perspective, don’t you think? I’d love to see some of the secret treasure trove of brilliant Dario essays that Anthropic is apparently sitting on. Maybe that would make me feel more optimistic. Anyways, it’s hard to really blame anyone. If one guy doesn’t do it, the other guy will. So why not? In a gold rush, you’re supposed to mine for gold. That’s the point. Okay, that’s enough rambling for now. I would really like to be convinced otherwise. I’m open minded. Maybe it is actually the most ethical gold rush ever in history and we’ll end up in a space opera utopia where all diseases have been cured and we can live in edenic peace forever. You tell me.

@tszzl its worse in the sense that human slop has more constraints from the limitations of people, but ai slop is more easily optimized for ultra maxing engagement

let me amend this: I basically agree with postman on the nature of video and its corrupting influence on running a civilization well as opposed to text based media im just not sure that its so much worse than being glued to your tv , and im definitely not sure that ai slop is worse than human slop

Everyone cried out for OpenAI to go open source, waving every moral banner they could. Now gpt oss is here and literally not a single soul uses it. Seems it was never about oss, only about yapping for the sweet taste of moral high ground and a few likes on Twitter.
