This is actually a good description of a key failure mode for people who LARP as enlightened gurus.
They’re so invested in making their consciousness feel calm and egoless that they just shove all their selfish, angry or craving aspects into the unconscious.
Get to walk around feeling very enlightened and dismiss unconsciously motivated behaviour that contradicts that feeling as “emptiness dancing” or “crazy wisdom” or whatever.
As the OP says below, it’s much better to let yourself actually feel the parts of yourself that contradict your ideal, than carefully sculpt an illusory inner peace that floats on an ocean of unconscious chaos.

Something I’ve noticed as I’ve gotten emotionally healthier is that compartmentalization works a lot better than repression. ‘I’m in pain & I’ll put it aside temporarily to get things done,’ leads to way better outcomes than, ‘I feel consciously fine but can’t focus or make good decisions.’ Of course, repression isn’t a conscious choice, it’s an adaptation that has to be worked on over time. But it’s just cool to note that feeling more *conscious* pain can lead to way more alignment & ease (bc the mind & body are not using up energy warring subconsciously).

@MuddySister @AmericanALCHMY Where else can one be than in his own mind?

@AmericanALCHMY Clearly this didn't happen in the physical sense. The "past" doesn't endure like frames in a movie "somewhere and somewhen". So there is no re-visiting such long-gone times. Now "in his own mind"... maybe. That is where such travels are real.

RIP to my mother Rachel, age 51, who died from colon cancer today. Here she is, just a few weeks ago, posing with a flintlock blunderbuss rifle..
At the final hour, she received the Anointing of the Sick from a Catholic Priest.
Thank you all so much for your prayers; they've meant the world to our family. God bless you all.

@scttfrnks Why are so many people against lab-grown meat? This is arguably more humane than factory farming. It does the trick. Satisfies the masses with less cruelty and suffering.

You just know that some not-insignificant number of people are going to jump right into sexbots with zero hesitation. It’ll soon be something that “needs to be normalized.”
