"'#FANTASYBOYS and #BAE173 win their exclusive contract injunction case against PocketDol Studio, the company's objection has also been dismissed'.
The court ruled in favor of Fantasy Boys members and BAE173 member Doha in the injunction case they filed against PocketDol Studio seeking to suspend the validity of their exclusive contracts. PocketDol Studio's objection to the ruling was also dismissed.
Attorney Heo Seong-hoon, legal representative for six Fantasy Boys members and BAE173 member Doha, stated on the 14th that the members had won the injunction case filed on the 17th of last month against PocketDol Studio at the Seoul Central District Court. Although PocketDol Studio immediately filed an objection, the members also won in the objection proceedings.
The legal team stated that the court repeatedly pointed out that PocketDol Studio had failed to properly fulfill its settlement/payment obligations and recognized this as a violation of the company's contractual obligations.
As a result, Fantasy Boys members Kang Minseo and five others, along with BAE173 member Doha, are now no longer bound by their exclusive contract relationships with PocketDol Studio and are able to freely carry out entertainment activities.
Attorney Heo added that the ruling once again confirms the importance of management companies fulfilling their settlement obligations under exclusive contracts.
Meanwhile, Fantasy Boys debuted through MBC's Fantasy Boys: Afterschool Excitement Season 2. in 2023. Originally expected to debut as an 11-member group, Yu Junwon did not join due to a contract dispute with the agency. Last year, members Kang Minseo, Lee Hanbin, Hikaru, Hong Sungmin, Kim Gyurae and Kaedan filed lawsuits and injunction requests seeking confirmation that their exclusive contracts were invalid, putting the group's future at risk".
