A college kid was hired to fix the computers at a Brazilian bank. Years later he controlled it, nearly lost it all, went to jail, and came back. His name is André Esteves. In 1989 he joined a small Rio bank called Pactual as an intern in the tech room. He was still in college, and he was not born into money. Soon he learned to trade, became a partner, and took control from the bank's own founder. In 2006 he sold Pactual to the Swiss giant UBS. That one deal made him the youngest self-made billionaire in Brazil. Then the 2008 crash hit, and UBS was desperate for cash. In 2009 he bought the whole bank back for $2.5 billion. He merged it with his new firm, BTG, to create BTG Pactual. In 2012 he took it public and grew it into the largest investment bank in Latin America. He kept buying, even grabbing a 140-year-old Swiss private bank in 2014. Then in November 2015 the police arrested him at his home. They said he tried to block Brazil's giant "Car Wash" corruption probe. His bank almost died overnight. Clients pulled out billions, the stock crashed, and BTG had to sell pieces of itself to survive. He resigned, spent about three weeks in jail, and then months under house arrest. Most people would have vanished for good. In 2018 a federal judge cleared him of all the charges. Then he did something even bigger than before. He turned his bank for the rich into a digital bank that now serves tens of millions of Brazilians. By 2022 he had climbed all the way back to chairman. Today André Esteves is the second-richest person in Brazil. The computer kid lost almost the whole bank once. Then he built it back bigger than ever.

Probably the ugliest girl I’ve seen in my entire life slid me this instead of a tip at work. Kinda sucks that there’s a 90% chance I’m texting her bombed at 3 AM tonight but I’m in no condition to be turning down free hole as of late #dryspell #YouEitherHungryOrYouNot

how your bf looks at you when you ask him to delete nudes of the girl who “broke his heart” in 2019:

Summer interns have landed in nyc (I did help him out after taking this)
