West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) has quietly rearranged the Tariff Slab in order to extract more out of the pockets of the Consumers. It's a very shrewd and cunning move. The rate of tariff hasn't been increased but the existing slabs have been rearranged in such a manner that the Consumer would ultimately end up paying much much higher. Appended herewith is the revised Rate of Slab as printed on the Quarterly Electric Bill of a Consumer, generated for the May-July quarter. Strangely, different Consumers are receiving different kinds of Slab structure on their latest electric bills. Based on the revised Slab as printed on the bill, I have calculated two prospective Electric Bills. Scenario 1 - where the electricity consumption is 300 units. The Consumer would have paid Rs. 1948.60 according to the old slab. But due to the rearrangement of slab, the Consumer would end up paying Rs. 2351.18. Scenario 2 - where the electricity consumption is 1000 units. The Consumer would have paid Rs. 7456.04 according to the old slab. But due to the rearrangement of slab, the Consumer would end up paying Rs. 8805.18. This is how the Mamata Banerjee Govt is looting the Consumer, without even making the information public:-
