We're proud to have supported research which has found that it may be possible to prevent rheumatoid arthritis. We recruited 10 patients to the APPIPRA study which found weekly injections of the drug, abatacept, can delay the development of full-blown joint inflammation.

Women who present to our services with upper tract infections may be asked to participate in a research programme. A study is investigating the shortest antibiotic treatment duration needed to treat infections. This will help us to protect patients from antibiotics resistance.

Since 2020, more than 70 local people have helped us research how we treat patients with Covid-19. For fout years, we've been supporting the REMAP-CAP study, which trials interventions for critically ill adults with COVID-19. Thank you to everyone who has supported this work 💙
