This was DEFINITELY inspired by my boy Coogler's Kodak video. Fun fact: I was there when they shot that video too!

SA has an oversized financial sector compared to its peers. It is suffocating the economy. Sadly, we are doubling down on this obesity & we give it an unrelated description, "structural reforms". What a sad story of a nation with so much potential.

A sensible & analytical government knows the answer is SMRs because SA is underdeveloped & deindustrializing at it's own detriment. Transmission spend at benefit of IPPs outsourcing is very short sighted while SMRs are future proofing energy requirements to build a country
Princy Mthombeni@Princymthombeni

Nuclear energy is about more than keeping the lights on. It’s about industrial growth, job creation and real energy security for South Africa. We should’ve made bold moves sooner, but the time to build is NOW. Full interview here: lnkd.in/djehNGN5

It’s funny how when govt spends a few billion on Eskom per year, there is such a fuss made about “bailouts” but when private power producers need the grid expanded, in order to profit from generating power, suddenly there is no issue with govt spending R450 billion at the public’s expense.
Newzroom Afrika@Newzroom405

Electricity and Energy Deputy Minister, Samantha Graham-Maré says the government needs R450-billion to build 14,000 kilometers of transmission lines. She says they're generating more electricity but battling transmission issues to get the power where it's needed. Watch: tinyurl.com/bdh9vffn

The biggest infrastructure projects in the world are in China funded by China Construction Bank, so why is it difficult to do the same BlackRock is an American firm, USA has collapsing infrastructure so how are they going to fund infrastructure here when they fail in USA
Zuko Godlimpi, MP@MPGodlimpi

Reflecting on the day-long SA Infrastructure Investment Summit, I spoke on the state’s evident commitment to mobilizing capital for development, government appetite to derisk investment by co-financing, & our long term project pipeline to bolster South Africa’s infrastructure.
