NIH indirect costs fund the backbone of research: maintaining labs, ensuring safety, and supporting admin work. These are essential for groundbreaking discoveries. Drastic cuts to NIH indirect rates are detrimental to academic biomedical research.

I think it's worth saying explicitly why this is so unethical: 1) Research interventions are experimental. Participants thus need to be monitored for their safety. 2) Informed consent processes involve making commitments to participants that the US government has now broken.

@kmills711 @AcademicChatter Can’t recommend enough making text boxes with a forced width/position to the margin (my school had strict formatting requirements). You can easily paste in the tiff/png of figures you’ve created elsewhere and write/edit captions. Also I had a constantly updated to-do checklist.
