It has been two weeks since Jacob Ngarivhume s conviction. Like Job Sikhala he rots in a prison whose conditions are not fit for human habitation.His only crime was to express his democratic right to peaceful protest.We reject use of the law as blunt instrument of repression

If our African democracy is to work, we need to engage in tough diplomacy & extend our Zambian hand of friendship only to those who respect human rights. We can't be forced to drive the sanctions narrative if those involved continuously brutalize their people to remain in power !

Job Sikhala’s lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa has received a call from Chikurubi prison asking her to urgently get a doctor for the political prisoner and MP. His wife has confirmed that she also got a call letting her know that Sikhala is vomiting; she is now on her way to the prison.
