Apparently Canada is so terrible that; We have one of the highest net migration rates in the developed world. People are lining up, sometimes for years, just for the chance to live here. Every year, tens of thousands of people sell everything they own, leave their families behind, and cross oceans to build a life in this country. But sure. Tell me again how unlivable it is. Is Canada perfect? No. Housing costs are brutal. Affordability is a real crisis. Those are legitimate conversations worth having. But there’s a difference between criticizing a country to make it better and performing hatred of it for engagement. If you genuinely, deeply hate Canada, that’s actually okay. Not every place is for every person. There are countries with lower taxes, warmer weather, cheaper housing, looser regulations. Go explore them. Seriously. But if you’re staying here, collecting the healthcare, cashing the paycheques, and using the infrastructure while telling everyone this country is garbage? That’s not a political position, it’s just bad faith. Canada has real problems. It also has people, who love this country, working every single day to fix them. Pick a lane.

If The USA took Alberta they would take the oil and leave Albertans to starve. Trump does not care about the Seppies. He cares about stealing Alberta's oil.

You fool!! Trump led Canada into a recession with his illegal tariffs on Canadian steel, lumber, aluminum and auto parts. PMMC is doing everything in his power to diversify Canada's trading relationships and he has to put up with your gutter sniping!!
Andrew Scheer@AndrewScheer

Mark Carney led Canada into a recession. Canadians deserve answers about rising debt levels and lost jobs. Instead Carney skips Question Period and hides from MPs. If he’s so sure his policies are working, why not show up and answer for them?

Alberta belongs in Canada. Danielle Smith is playing a dangerous game, giving oxygen and credibility to far right separatists. Albertans deserve better.

So Canada posted two consecutive quarters of negative GDP. -1% and -0.1%. Technical recession, yes. Carney’s fault? Fuck no. Business investment fell for a fifth straight quarter because nobody can plan around Trump’s tariff chaos. Exports were soft. A gold import spike made Q1 look worse than it was. Meanwhile consumer spending held, oil and gas is rebounding, and Q2 is already tracking positive. The recession was trade-induced and it’s probably already behind us. The people screaming about Liberal failure right now are the same ones cheering on the guy who caused it.

@ryangerritsen You have it wrong, Ryan. Canadians like me don't go to the USA because we don't like Trump. I don't feel safe driving there. I don't trust their airports. I don't like their gun violence. I don't want my cell phone being seized by the border officials. That's why.

Vermont News went to Montreal to find out why Canadians aren’t visiting as much. It looks like their media machine does the same as ours, pump out anti-Trump rhetoric. Every person they decided to talk to was anti-Trump. People putting their lives on hold over someone they don’t like is behavior I just can’t wrap my head around. Canadians can literally be told how to think, feel and behave.

Canada’s Aluminium Is Going to Europe. Brilliant Work, Donald. A 50% tariff on Canadian aluminium, the one country on Earth that was happily selling the stuff at sensible prices, right next door, through an integrated supply chain that took decades to build. And now that aluminium is sailing across the Atlantic to Europe instead. Canadian exports to the EU went from near zero to between 6% and 40% of monthly totals in the space of a year. Just vanished eastward. Extraordinary result. US consumers are now paying $6,200 a ton for aluminium. Europeans are paying $4,300. American manufacturers taxed nearly two thousand dollars a ton more than their competitors. For beer cans. And car parts. And buildings. Tremendous. Nobody could have seen that coming, except everyone. Meanwhile Europe, which was already scrambling after losing its Middle Eastern supply to the Iran war, now faces a 5.6 million-ton aluminium deficit in 2026. And Canada just filled it. With metal that used to go to America. The head of the Aluminium Association of Canada put it with admirable restraint: the EU option “remains attractive,” adding pressure on the US market. What he meant was: Washington handed Europe a competitive advantage in manufacturing while American industry pays the bill. This is what happens when a trade guru who has spent his career slapping his name on buildings in gold letters decides he understands global commodity flows. No leverage materialises. Just an empty dock in Ohio and a very pleased purchasing manager in Rotterdam. Well done, Donald. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1
