The concrete median accidents happening across Lekki have become one too many. How many more lives must be endangered before this government acts responsibly? For months, citizens and civic organizations like Lagos Updates have consistently raised alarms and proposed simple safety measures: Install clear speed limit signs, add visible “Concrete Median Ahead” warning signs and Improve night driving safety with proper lighting and reflectors. Yet, nothing has been done. This is the reality of APC governance in Lagos: reactive, careless, and completely disconnected from the daily struggles and safety of ordinary people. A government that collects taxes and tolls from citizens but refuses to prioritize basic road safety has failed in one of its most important responsibilities. People are not asking for luxury. They are asking not to die on roads because of preventable negligence. Lagosians deserve a government that listens, plans, and values human lives above politics and propaganda.
