@realTanyaTay My oldest is 33 my youngest 21. I still turn around whenever I hear a child say “mom”, thinking it’s one of mine! And I do the “mom sway” in Church when I’m behind a young mom w/baby. 💕

The first time my baby said “mama,” the whole world stopped for a second. Then my second baby did it too, and somehow my heart exploded all over again. And somehow, even after hearing “mama, mama, mama” nonstop all day long, it’s still my favorite word in the world! Happy Mother’s Day!!

Guys!!! I have a question. And if you attended Mass today, I'm sure you would be able to help me answer this question that has been on my mind all day. The first reading (Acts 8:5-8, 14-17), today, we saw how Philip was able to convert the people of Samaria to Christianity. Now after he was done, the Apostles, who were in Jerusalem, heard what had happened, and they sent Peter and John to go to Samaria and impart the Holy Spirit on the new converts. Why did Philip not do it? Does he not have the power to impart the Holy Spirit on the newly converts or what?? Why were John and Peter instead sent to do it?? I'd appreciate every response from this because this has been on my mind all day.

This is Our Lady of Grace in Greensboro, NC (my parish) in the Diocese of Charlotte. Bishop Martin's cruel and needless edict to discontinue the use of altar rails and kneelers to receive Communion is being enforced. This, of course, is the same Bishop Martin who ripped our parish TLMs from us and exiled us to a small, relatively isolated chapel far from our home churches. He's now imposing his personal preferences for how Communion "ought" to be run, in the name of "unity." We still have the right to receive on the tongue while kneeling, but without the use of altar rails it's become extremely difficult (as I said, cruel). I was not at this particular Mass that day, but at the one I attended the priest and deacon stood just outside the altar gate, each assisted by an altar boy holding a communion plate. For those of us who chose to kneel and receive on the tongue, the altar server gave us a subtle hand to help us get back up. I'm not sure if they gave Communion to those few people who actually went the rail. Several priests in the diocese sent a letter to Rome to see if Bishop Martin is even permitted to do these things, considering this impedes our right to reception on the tongue while kneeling. Apparently Rome has acknowledged that they received the letter and will look into the matter, so hopefully they rein in Martin's evil actions. Please pray for us.
