The wealthy donors are fighting the 17¢ millionaire tax (AB 1209) diligently. But here’s the thing, if working class people come together and decide that lowering our property taxes by 44% is more important than those 17¢ for people making $1 million per year, we can win.

@DanRShafer All I see in her agenda is having the highest state tax income bracket in the country. A fact that you conveniently left out of your story.

There's a certain irony in Hong's "defund the police" comments, in that she's advocating for increasing shared revenue funding as a central plank in her agenda, and that's the main way local governments in Wisconsin fund police. Republican state legislators had cut this for years, in turn, *actually* defunding police.
Andrew Kaczynski@KFILE

NEW on CNN: Francesca Hong, a top Democratic running for Wisconsin governor, repeatedly called for abolishing police in past comments. Unlike others, Hong did not disavow those comments when asked but now says, "I recognize that this paradigm shift is a very long term vision."

@DanRShafer How can you write a story on Hong without mentioning that she wants Wisconsin to have the highest state income tax brackets in the country?

Francesca Hong's campaign has earned the right to be taken seriously and considered on its merits, and not simply by the narratives or labels assigned to it. Time to view the Hong campaign through a different lens.

@Cubber4415 I'm not high on the Brewers, but just don't see what the Cubs have, other than high salaries. The roster kind of sucks and you have no pitching.

Pay a lot of players on this #Cubs roster to still lose to a team with 1/2 the talent and payroll. Just amazing stuff man.

@todd_marohl The WAR comparison is again laughable. Nico has a 17.4 WAR over the same time frame of Turang’s 14.1.

Since calling for a 17¢ millionaire tax, right wing groups have taken an interest in our campaign, including @AFPWI, a Koch Bros. group. The money will come in against us, but that’s why we knock doors. Join us this weekend to talk to our neighbors! Linktr.ee/julianaforthep…

Wrong analysis. If people want to cross over to help Tiffany in the primary by getting the weakest Democrat through, vote for Hong. She’s the candidate he has the best chance of defeating, by far.

@JuForthePeople Why don't you give us 17 cents of your income? I forgot, 17% of nothing is nothing.

Democratic Socialists in Wisconsin believe in passing AB 1209 to tax millionaires 17¢. This will allow us to lower property taxes by 44% while fully funding our schools. It’s education + housing policy that addresses our biggest expenses.

@JuForthePeople I haven't yet received an answer to this question, so I'll ask again. Most millionaires have jobs that can be done remotely. What's to stop them from moving to FL or TX or SC? How will you tax them if they aren't WI residents?

The #Cubs were 2nd in fWAR produced by top 100 prospects in 2025. The last 5 years the system has produced: Isaac Paredes + Kyle Tucker Cabrera Horton Busch PCA Shaw Steele Mo Baller Ben Brown Palencia Hodge With 3-5 more top 100-150 prospects in baseball currently

@SamOlbur If I can meatball for a second Jed just simply hasn’t given this org enough since he’s been the guy. Farm hasn’t yielded nearly enough talent in 5 years. This cubs core just doesn’t have the juice. see it time and time again RISP wise. Brewers make things happen, cubs dont.

@Cubber4415 I think PCA is the biggest media hype in the MLB. Wouldn't want that dude on my team. I have a thing about hypeneated names, lol.

@todd_marohl I am talking about career numbers. PCA is supposedly so garbage, but with only 20 more ABs he has 3 more homers, more RBIs, and 4 more WAR. By that sample size Chourio is worse.

@Cubber4415 Biggest problem with the Cubs is they have a lot of mediocre players and no pitching. Swanson sucks. PCA sucks, your catchers both suck. You have two good players. Hoerner and Happ.

@todd_marohl You are acting like teams would give open market contracts based on 1 year. That isn’t true. Over past few years sample size, even including playoff performance, Hoerner would probably demand more than Turang in the open market, and is objectively better.
