@lowlow0005 Fax! Factory farming is a complete disrespect to the holiness of animals. I’ve just definitely heard people acting like domesticated animals are somehow equal to humans and as if we don’t have a natural (and naturally loving and respectful) hierarchy of care and stewarding

@tomortwo and imo the most recent philosophy on animal ethics does not say they’re equal but rather that they have their own inherent moral value too which would protect them from arbitrary killing for lesser benefit such as food (indigenous cultures are then also automatically excluded)

I hate the duality of vegans vs crazy carnivores in culture rn. Like no one knows grazing cattle is actually more sustainable in many biomes than being vegan, but that’s only grass fed beef

@lowlow0005 True! The average tofu is more sustainable than the average steak. But regenerative agriculture/permaculture (which is crucial for the healing of the environment) is, at least in the biomes Im aware of, way more productive, effective and sustainable with animal grazing etc

Also vegans tend to fall in the “humans are carcinogenic to the Earth” belief which is untrue (the most sustainable indigenous people were known to steward the land to keep biodiversity high) and equaling animals to humans and vice versa. Like sorry im so anthropocentric #sorry
