Also worth noting that as a Hunter student, I had to show my student ID to cops and they wouldn't even let me in the protest area (shown separated by lexington in the pic) unless I said I was going to class. I have no idea how this is even legal

This is absurd. Cops shut down whole city blocks and denied press access. 3rd and Lexington were restricted while shutting down 67 & 68 and sidewalks surrounding 3 block radius. Protesters got placed 250 & 600 feet away. Cops later shut 3rd from 66 to 69 when protest moved there.
