Unfair Higher Income Child Benefit Charge. The charity @Gingerbread are writing to MPs about the unfairness, as I've been campaigning on it they asked me to support. I have. Here's my added quote "Even the Chancellor had to agree with me, when I put it to him, that the High Income Child Benefit Charge is an unfairness in the tax system." "It penalises single parent and single income families unfairly. It was by far the biggest single topic the public wanted me to put to politicians." "The problem is exacerbated by the frozen £50,000 threshold which fiscally-drags more single parent families into this situation each year. It staggers me no party has latched onto the popularity they’ll get from pledging to ends this structurally unfair anomaly.”

@MartinSLewis Anyone earning £60k (with children)pays 40% tax on on 10k and also loses child benefit also minus national insurance…if you are the sole income this is devastating…you walk away with around 2 k in your pocket for 10k worth of work/overtime. This puts pressure on the family

@MartinSLewis It does need addressing, I earn 54k a year and my wife earns 10k a year and I have to pay back 40% of child benefit. Yet two parents on 49k a year don't. Ridiculously broken.

At this point it's worth mentioning that it's becoming far less about the money involved with my refund, which was relatively small, but far more about the principle. Do companies genuinely get away with this stuff by ignoring customers and hoping they eventually give up...?

Really want to watch Paris test event @BritTri but have to purchase a subscription to watch - such a shame. Would get more people interested in the sport if easier access to watching it
