@drewdyck Yikes! I went to Fuller, too (MDiv 2004). Wonder if this is a “bigger they are the harder they fall” thing. Fuller had been almost abnormally large for a while. With cost of living in CA being crazy, theological changes among evangelicals, etc. the drop may have been inevitable.

What seminaries are growing? Which ones are declining? I compared the 2024 data from ATS to the same data from 2007 below. Midwestern Baptist is up 290% United Theological is up 244% Southwestern Baptist is down 46% Fuller Theological is down 63%

@mrwtffacts The most insane aspect of this story is not her brother’s false confession. The most insane part is that when they finally caught the real killer & rapist of a 15yo girl (a guy with other rape convictions as well), they only sentenced him to 12 years in prison.

In 1995, 15-year-old Nicole van den Hurk was raped & murdered on her way to school in the Netherlands.
The case went cold for 16 years.
Then, suddenly, her stepbrother Andy confessed on Facebook: “I killed my little sister”
Police arrested him… but all was not as it seemed. It was, in fact, a deliberate false confession.
Andy’s plan? Force them to exhume Nicole’s body for modern DNA testing.
The insane gamble worked.
In 2014, the real killer, a man with prior rape convictions, was caught & sentenced to 12 years.

@HSRdirector @larissaphillip P.S. She also wrote a phenomenal piece on getting married. These articles should be sown together and made required reading for all teens and early 20s. I had so many fears about marriage and kids and discovered both are hard and beautiful in ways I couldn’t imagine AND WORTH IT!

Now, I cannot and would not imagine my life without them. Next to Jesus, they’re the greatest things to ever happen to me, hands down.
