“What could be said more severe than this apostolic sentence (Phil. 3:2): ‘Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.’ Consider the ‘concision,’ that is, the division of unity, which is the proper work of evil laborers. For just as dogs tear apart the flesh, so schismatics rend the body of Christ—which is the Church—so that one holds one part, another another part. Revelation 22:15: ‘Outside are the dogs.’ Outside the unity of the body of Christ, outside the Church, outside the Spirit of Christ, outside life, outside salvation.
Jude 19: ‘These are they who separate themselves, animal men, having not the Spirit.’ Whoever separates himself from the primal unity is carnal, and fails to understand sufficiently that life cannot exist in a member torn away; and therefore he does not have the Spirit, who is given so that the bond of peace may be preserved.”
