South Korean police are seeking an arrest warrant against Kim Se Ui, head of the YouTube channel HoverLab, for allegedly spreading false information about actor Kim Soo Hyun.
According to a report by The Korea Times, police said Kim Se Ui presented fabricated evidence to support his claims that Kim Soo Hyun dated the late actress Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor.

법조계에 따르면 서울중앙지검은 지난 20일 김세의 대표에 대한 구속영장을 청구했다. 이에 앞서 서울 강남경찰서가 지난 14일 검찰에 제출한 김세의 대표에 대한 구속영장 신청서에는 '김 대표가 유튜브 수익을 목적으로 김수현에 대한 허위 사실을 유포했다'는 내용이 담겼다.
경찰은 "김세의 대표가 김수현과 고 김새론이 미성년자 시절부터 교제한 사실이 없다는 점을 알고 있었음에도, 비방할 목적으로 허위 사실을 유포한 것으로 판단했다"는 취지의 의견을 낸 것으로 전해졌다.
또한 이 과정에서 생성형 인공지능(AI)을 활용해 김새론의 음성을 조작하는 방식으로 허위 내용을 만들어낸 뒤, 이를 유포해 김수현의 명예를 훼손한 것으로 경찰은 보고 있다.
