The RAAH’s statement on PROPHET TB JOSHUA “I find it profoundly troubling how easily some people speak with such harshness about those who are no longer here to defend themselves. Death, above all things, ought to awaken humility within us. It should remind us that every human being is flawed, fragile, & ultimately accountable to God. Prophet T. B. Joshua was, in my view, undeniably a man of God. Like every other human being, he was not without faults (not that I witnessed any fault)-I just know that none of us are infallible. I certainly am riddled with many. Yet it is impossible to dismiss the extraordinary grace that rested upon his life, the compassion he showed toward people, and the immense spiritual impact of his ministry across nations & generations. The love of Christ was evident in him. He gave generously, served tirelessly, & touched countless lives with hope, faith, and restoration. Whether one agreed with every aspect of his ministry or not, his influence and contribution to the body of Christ cannot honestly be denied. What grieves me most is the tendency of some to become exceptionally bold only after a person has departed this life. There is something deeply unsettling about attacking a man who no longer has the opportunity to speak for himself. Beyond public opinion and theological debates, there are children, family members, spiritual sons and daughters, and millions of people whose lives were profoundly shaped by his existence. They, too, deserve peace. We must exercise caution in how we speak concerning those whom God used. History repeatedly reminds us that God has often worked through imperfect vessels. Above all, If one has not yet made for Christ the level of impact that T.B. Joshua made, perhaps it would be wiser to devote more energy to fulfilling one’s own calling than to dismantling another man’s legacy. Respect for the departed is not the same as idolising them or pretending they were beyond reproach. Rather, it is an acknowledgement of our shared humanity & an acceptance that God, in His sovereignty, chooses to work through imperfect people. May we therefore speak with wisdom, restraint, humility, & grace. Let the man rest.”

Marriage as a system was designed to benefit men, as it allows even the p+orest men to have a companion — Feminist Chidera Eggerue British-Nigerian author and feminist Chidera Eggerue has made a controversial comment about marriage on the Honest Bunch Podcast. During the conversation on marriage, feminism and relationship on the Honest Bunch Podcast, Chidera argued that marriage was created mainly to favor men. “Marriage as a system already was designed to benefit men,” she said. “Marriage allows for even the p+orest of men to still have a companion.” She also stated that she would leave a partner if he lost his wealth. “And yes, if that man that I’m with, let’s say he loses his money, right? Because that’s the thing women hear a lot; ‘You want a rich man, well what if he loses his money?’ right? We fantasize about the idea of a woman who likes rich men being with a man who loses his money. Guess what? He loses his money, he loses me. I move on,” she said. Her comments quickly got a pushback from ManLikePharaoh, who described modern feminism in Nigeria as “a joke.” “Feminism is nons£nse, especially in Nigeria. It’s actually a joke,” he said, leading to a tense back-and-forth between both speakers. Chidera, however, defended her stance, insisting she was speaking for women who no longer want to downplay their expectations in relationships. “I’m here to represent the women who are not going to p¥ssyfoot around trying to make men feel better,” she said.

SPOTLIGHT: Sir Dickson, the accidental influencer who raises funds for distressed Nigerians When desperation spills onto Nigeria’s social media timelines and hope almost hits a brick wall, one name is often summoned with urgency: Sir Dickson. Under posts from students facing expulsion over unpaid fees, families seeking urgent medical treatment, tenants on the brink of eviction, or strangers asking for help to feed through the week, users frequently tag the same account in the hope that attention and assistance might follow. Over the years, the social media personality has built a reputation for mobilising donations for people in distress, helping to raise funds for hospital bills, rent, school fees, feeding, ransom payments for kidnapped victims, and even cases involving prisoners supporters believe were unjustly jailed. thecable.ng/spotlight-sir-…
