@anzlitlovers Mine was not checked... But thanks. As I emailed, I think my beef is the jetpack notifications not the email subscriptions which were working.

Dr Stephanie Dowrick Joins calls for PEACE
Re #TheDrum, is anyone willing to explain how this rare show, focusing on social issues that matter, came to be axed? Does Justin Stevenson have so much power? Does the #ABC Board want to silence diverse voices? Surely not a shortage of listeners - espec compared to #afternoonbriefing and insular #insiders? So distressing - @Dan_Bourchier a terrific 3rd main host; Ellen & @bairdjulia always intelligent, passionate - and RESPECTFUL. Could @SBS take up the opportunity? But #ABC also owe explanation/adequate replacement. @whelan60

@datsunland @anzlitlovers Absolutely agree … there should be no shoulds when it comes to creative expression. We are becoming rather too judgemental … But Tirra Lirra is still loved, and Stow, and others by many AusLit bloggers.

@Lisa9Sophia @barriecassidy It's not about guilt- it's about acknowledging the history of the past. I'm still gob-smacked that when I became a Mum-in the '70's-this was Govt.policy. The Stolen Generations -where Aboriginal children were removed from their families- happened from the mid-1800s to the 1970s.

I was a descendant of convicts. On both sides. Within 10 years one was a blacksmith and other married to a cop. In that time tens of thousands of indigenous Australians were slaughtered. How can anybody find the two experiences analogous?

Can any of my herpetologist friends identify this beauty, spotted in the Brisbane Botanic Gardens?

@anzlitlovers Do they really? We used to store most wine under the house near the bricked wet areas where the temperature stayed fairly consistent, but we don’t cellar now. I can’t drink reds and Mr Gums can’t drink much of anything! One wine fridge will suffice.

@anzlitlovers Love it … and two wine fridges? We have one! We had books in the entrance hall, study, rumpus room, our bedroom (my women), family room (cookbooks and tbr review books) and two other bedrooms.

@anzlitlovers Love this. We’ve downsized which included the library along with everything else but a major attraction of the apt we bought was the full wall of builtin bookshelves. I remember open plan houses with minimal walls for books last time we house hunted.

@RNBreakfast @mscott In my experience, school management is playing a big role in teachers' experience, including poor school leadership, ineffective professional development, and too many non-teaching demands on teachers. Look at the schools!
