This was a fun #pasta to make. Sagne torte w/ a homemade #passata based tomato sauce w/mini-meatballs. Meatballs were a combo of pork, beef, pecorino romano, & other seasonings. Noodles were made from @HaydenFlourMill #semolina, hand cut and twisted. Recipe from @pastagrannies.

Pushed myself today and turned in ~29 mile bike ride out to Lake Martin and back. Beautiful destination, but the route is not advised…won’t be doing it again as the road out to the lake has too many people speeding and wasn’t the safest choice. #LivedAndLearned

Big fan of breakfast sandwiches, and I’m just here to say that Twin’s Burgers and Sweets in Lafayette makes a darn fine contribution to the list of good options in Lafayette.

These guys turned out really nice today. That’s a same day bread with white, einkorn, and white rye flour. Making #bruschetta tonight for dinner so that amount of #OpenCrumb might be a small challenge. But they sure are pretty. #ArtisanBread

Best thing about #Shokupan is sometimes having French Toast two mornings in a row over the course of a long weekend. #AwShucks

Made two loaves of #Shokupan, or Japanese Milk Bread today. It has a sweet, buttery flavor and is fluffy like cotton on the inside. These were made with the tangzhong method, which reminds me of a roux but it only has water and flour in it.

Poblano. Sigh.

Did a thing today. Buttermilk-brined #FriedChicken. Cole Slaw. Skillet charred corn. Flash fried okra. Chicken and okra found in @thejemimacode’s Jubilee cookbook. Skillet corn recipe derived from @WhitneyOtawka’s #CastIron charred corn recipe (no bacon, swapped in pablano).
