Both in my first career and current, I have done editing as a major part of my work. When I reflect back on my college days, I have come to understand everyone was shit at critique because most comments were borne out of ego. There's a total lack of experience and empathy.

I love people not even done with their undergrad thinking they give effective critique, especially when it's unprompted. *sigh* lmao
