The Three Reasons Why I’m Betting on Jared McCain’s Points ⬇️🎶
1. J Dub is questionable after reinjuring his hamstring in game 2. I’d be pretty surprised (honestly shocked), if he plays in game 3 and this leave aton of usage and minutes open for McCain to slot into.
2. McCain played 26 minutes but 16!! In the second half without J Dub for the entirety of it. OKC needs shooting and scoring around SGA as the Spurs have so much of their defensive gameplan around making the others beat them. McCain shot 14 shots last game without J Dub for three quarters and didn’t even shoot particular well, going 4 for 14 and 3 for 9 from 3. McCain was getting great looks and I’d expect him to be just as aggressive tonight.
3. Could easily see 25+ minutes again here with room for more and there’s just so many different ways for McCain to get shots, from catch and shoots off SGA being doubled to PNRs. When McCain ran the PNR against Wemby, the Spurs ran a drop coverage and McCain had some great looks hunting for his shot in the mid range and from 3 as a result.
