This is the 3rd or 4th case of someone having my dream job and doing this exact same thing with it. I don't know who needs to hear this, but when you're painting, in photoshop for example, at no point in the process are you supposed to have someone else's work in your psd file as a "place holder" or a "reference to paint over later" or "I'll just mildly edit this existing art done by one of the most famous artists working today and no one will notice"... Secondly, where's the Art Director who should have said: "Hey... these two characters.. are painted in two different styles, on two different skill levels... what's up with that?"

Gonna be real here. I've literally been making art every day pretty much since the beginning of the year. Between the GenAI and the crisis in the film and video game industries, being an artist has been so difficult. And the only way I know how to cope with it is by making art.

For 2 years, I had the pleasure of working on the concept art for The Mario Movie  I notably worked on the designs of the mushroom kingdom environment. I hope to share the original concept art soon.

@Vesperis_Art That I do not have to actually be able to paint from memory all things in existence before being "allowed" to use references. Bad advice I read on conceptart.org many years ago..
