The issues are the moisture that the alcohol draws from the air, the resulting corrosion, and the seals and diaphragms in older cars and small engines dry out because of the alcohol. The mpg decrease comes from the richer afr needed to run it safely

Don't understand people who claim to walk 20k steps a day. Occasionally, on the weekends, when I tell my wife "let's go on a long walk", and we walk all day, and I look at my phone after hours and hours of walking, I'm at like 16,230 max. Is everyone just a liar?

@AP_Eire97 @BlightYoakam My only issues with it are the lack of patches for actual optimization and the fact they've re-released it multiple times and bricked my modded saves every single time. Like I get it, it happens, but no one asked for 5 versions of the same game. Oh and Creation Club. Don't like.

~25 years ago, when I was a MechE undergrad, one of our “exams” was something called “machine practical”. Nobody knew what it was. We arrived that morning and everyone had their own lab bench with a V twin Honda engine on it. We had to strip it down and complete a form with a bunch of obscure measurements including some component volumes. Then you had to reassemble the whole thing and start it with a tiny beaker of fuel. There was no time limit. I think some of the class are still there. 😂 I’m not sure if universities still do this sort of thing? But it was my favourite day, even ahead of the day we had to quantifiably destructively test each other’s welding. Last I heard they had engineering students write essays about oppressed 18th century vineyard workers or some such utter b0ll0cks, and the schools charge more than ever.

@thereddragon If I can play Beam NG with some mods and some cool VR sandbox games, that alone makes me want it. And if it's cheaper than my series X was that's even better. Obviously my console isn't going anywhere but this thing sounds awesome.

@Apnomis @Fightincowboy You can't play the game that's currently updating but you can play something else. The downside is, games you're playing also use bandwidth so they cause the download to slow or the connection to the games server isn't as fast

@yeag404 @Fightincowboy Can you set it running in the background & play something else (or the unpatched game) while you wait? My limited experience with the Xbox One gave me the impression you had to wait for games to install and then wait for the updates to download & install before you could use it..

@Apnomis @Fightincowboy Seems like it only keeps the games you've played recently updated. I haven't found a setting to change back to it auto updating EVERYTHING regardless of when I played it last but that'd be great. I'm tired of having 10 pending updates when I finally have time to play.

@Fightincowboy Does Xbox not have a background update system that updates games overnight? I remember playing on an Xbox One and it seemed like an endless wait of load/download bars that you couldn't have running in the background. I love that the PS5 does all this stuff in the background...

Game crashes all by itself, idk why they keep trying to improve it without actually learning how to optimize it. Imma just delete it

This "Anniversary" update straight-up nuked my modded Fallout 4. All to force this buggy Creations paid mods BS down our throats. Greedy AF. 1/10—fix your shit, Bethesda! Can't make a new game, so let's make an old one crappy. Was in the middle of a 5-day playtime runthrough that I now have to stop since I can't play it with the mods I had loaded. This company's been on a steep decline for the past decade. Not sure what happened at Bethesda, but it's painfully obvious some internal changes went down about 10 years ago.

I cut my teeth on cars in high school with an E30 325. Became a huge BMW nerd, thinking the E36 with its taught lines and elegant utilitarianism was peak. One thing BMW use to say was that the red lights in the interior were a hallmark of their approach- studies showed that particular amber-red was ideal for night vision. It wasn’t just a design choice- it was a core engineering choice that drove design to accommodate the right way to do a thing, with style and elegance. BMW stopped with the amber instrument clusters. IDK when exactly, but it just… ceased to be important. Night driving became no less risky. Human vision had not changed to invalidate the studies from the 1980s that drove the BMW amber cockpit lighting… what changed was that BMW got taken over by Art Center types, and became another dumb fashion brand selling lease fodder.
