That’s N73b made from what banks in the UK, U.S. and Canada make zilch from in the same period. If you keep N10m in a Nigerian bank, that money will reduce to N9m something within 3 months. I tested this in January with a new account, it reduced within a week. If you keep $10k in a U.S. bank of the same type of account as above, it will be $10k after 10 years. I opened a Lloyds account in 2019, they have never charged me even 0.00001p for account maintenance or any such anomaly. Talk of “financial inclusion” is a joke if poor people keep N10k in their account and have to lose tens of their money every month just because the bank breathes.

Zenith Bank made N73 billion from account maintenance charges in 2024. The highest so far in Tier 1 🇳🇬 banks

I think @MTNNG is stealing data from their customers to run their company. I mean, how else do you explain data usage of 40GB in 6 days. I use Shaw for my home internet and Bell on my phone when I am in Canada, it’s unlimited and I don’t even use up to 40GB in a month even with NETFLIX, X, IP TV, surfing and telephony, and sometimes I even have to work from home. MTN is extorting Nigerians like an illegal tollgate, and as the minister of communications and digital economy, this is the type of case that should be earning @bosuntijani his stripes. Unfortunately, anywhere you find APC, the incompetence and malfeasance don’t take long to show. It always wills out. MTN and APC, 5 & 6.
